Hoping here too, but in all likely to be a completely one sided contest.

I am hoping Ireland V Pakistan is a good game - I probably have better chances there .

I hope Ireland don't take it to the match against Pakistan and their QF place is determined ahead of it. That is the final Group B match, pressure and inexperience will come into play. Their best chance would be win against Zimbabwe and pray that India v Ireland gets washed out. For this match they should be looking at damage control and keep up the NRR.

Looks like it's going to be South Africa all the way, totally one-sided!
Chasing SA's mammoth 411, Ireland is 47/4

Win against Zim and win against Pak. Pakistan is almost equally nervous as they would need to win and win well.

For this game, I hope they bat out the 50 overs and dont get their NRR smashed.

PS. If they bat out the 50 overs and get close to 250 - they still lose by 160 but their run rate would take a hit and drop to around -1.5, close to Pakistan, but Pak would humble UAE and if anything Ireland and Pak would be a close game - Don't see Ireland trumping Pak in case of NRR. Ireland would need to beat them.

I think Ireland will be equally or more nervous than Pak would be. While it would be contest to watch if it goes down to the last match, am skeptical how much Irish have in them to qualify under that pressure. If they do, they'd be a far more confident team in QF.

Is this the first world cup that we are seeing so many 300+ scores, way more than we saw in 2011?

I hope Pak and Eng don't qualify because:

If BD qualifies & if we top the group, we'll have an easier opponent in the QF then.

If Pak goes out, I would love to hear Shoaib Akhtar

If these matches go our way, it would be nice:

1. Bangaldesh beat England
2. Srilanka beat Australia
3. Ireland beat Pakistan
4. India beat WI

Rest of the games should take care of themselves.

I was hoping the Scots would pull of a great victory against Bangaldesh but it did not happen!

Hope there will be no Gayle or Sam storms today and India will beat Windies

The sole member supporting Pakistan did it by mistake or actually supporting them and waiting with his box of crackers?

The WI vs Ind match has turned on its head and can go anywhere. Finally a interesting cricket match. Maybe Ind will script a fairy tale win like NZ did against Aus.

We should win this with a bit of difficulty!
It has turned out to be an ideal match for Dhoni & Jadeja as they badly needed batting practice. Loving the pace & bounce on this WACA pitch.

Glad that Ashwin gave company till the end. It would have been hard for Dhoni otherwise.

Anyways, here we go again:

Finally, a thrilling day of cricket in the World Cup.
Pakistan found some form and won against the South Africans.
Ireland and Zimbabwe played out a thriller which sets up Group B for an exciting finish.

Also, the knockout line-ups are getting clearer.
India are assured of finishing top of the table in Group B now which means they'll play at the MCG against either England or Bangladesh. They would have to face Australia in the semis if both teams win their QF matches.

India's path to the final would get easier if Bangladesh beat England and Sri Lanka beat Australia in their group games.

The dream final for many, NZ vs SA, may not materialise as both teams are likely to face each other in the semis.
