My qf winner predictions -
First - Sri Lanka
Second - India
Third- Aus
Fourth- Nz

I will be highly amazed if anything else happens barring the SAvSL game which is highly dependent on who bats first.

Yuvi scored three hundreds if I am not mistaken before the WC Selection. None of the others did anything of note. I know it is too late but I am still searching for a logic of picking players and not even giving them a go.

Please don't - predictions aside, enjoy the games, after this it's all useless tournaments till Champions Trophy comes along (in '17 I guess)

They aren't even going to get a game.

SL won the toss and are batting so we both end up saying the same thing
Hoping for a cracking game.

If I got it right, I think he scored it after the initial 25 were selected and it was in tests. Plus he hadn't played for India for quite sometime now and considering the current lot had a good run in the recent series barring the Aussie tour, it wouldn't be fair to remove one of them for a player who 'might or might not' come good.

Anyway, we have sailed this far without needing Yuvi. I am aware of his contributions for the WC2011 but we also need to respect the current lot for their work in getting through the matches unbeaten.

77/3 in 22 overs. SA are bowling really well. Why allow SL to get away with Duminy?

I hope Sanga & Mahela bat till 40 overs and push on from there. One more wicket and SA would be all over SL.

Supporting SL this game

I want SA to win, but from what I gather from cricinfo commentary the pitch is holding up a li'l.

250 should be enough.

Edit - 4 down ! Mahela bids adieu to cricket (possibly)

What difference Imran Tahir has made to this SA attack!! if the pitch is holding up a little the SL spinners can be a handful. But then again where are the spinners in the SL team?!!!

9 down, Sangakara out. Feeling bad for SL fans, this is not a way for a team to play in WC!

Rain halts play! Is South Africa being unlucky in World cup knockout stages? They are in a good shape against Sri Lanka. What will happen if rain continues? Will the match be replayed?

All efforts will be made to complete the match today (reduced overs)

In case it does not happen, play will resume on a reserve day

If the reserve day is also rained off, SA go through basis their better position in the group stages

You guys are unnecessarily worried. Sehwag had once said to win against Bangladesh all you have to do is just turn up for the match - Bangladesh will find a reason to lose. I agree with him.

Bangladesh might throw a surprise when the other team is taking a nap. But in QF, no team would take a nap.

Ridiculous batting by SL. No plan at all. Credit to SA for finally shredding the Chokers tag for one match. They will choke against NZ though

I think Sri Lanka batting collapsed under pressure of scoring 300+. Now after watching the way batsmen got out, I feel projection of 240+ would have been much practical. Though full credit to SA bowlers as well for such tight bowling.

ICC actually has spoiled the fun of cricket by making it a batsman favoring game. Now we rarely see nail biting contests and most matches are one sided contests now a days. There isn't much left for the bowlers to do with the smaller grounds and lot of fielding restrictions.

ICC is free to make T-20 cricket a batsman friendly game but they should leave the ODI and test cricket.

Now it looks like a easy win for SA after Sangakara's wicket unless SA batsman themselves throw away this golden opportunity.
