Watching. 307 is a good score but SA has good batsmen. I still remember the game when SA chased down 430 or so and won the match from Australia. But lets see, SA may choke. Go India go!

Clinical finish by India today. The only worrying part was there death over batting. Against both Pakistan and now SA, they were heading for a big total but ultimately ended up just crossing 300 and choking in the death overs. Both matches they should have scored 30-40 more runs given there position at the end of 40th over.

The best part of watching this Indian team is there fielding. It has improved so much with most players not shy of diving and chasing and throwing.

Wow! Never expected Indian team to completely decimate & outfield SA.
Now the tough part starts as the next couple of games are not exactly high intensity before the Quarters.
We need Dhoni to be in form to capitalize in the last 5 overs. All that negativity around India's chances in World Cup has suddenly disappeared now. Just hope we are not peaking too early.
Dhawan played well but some credit has to be given to Rahane as well, what a fluent innings he played.

I am extremely worried about our middle order. 3-4 wickets down, we suddenly start looking extremely vulnerable and collapse like a pack of cards. Teams with good bowling attacks specially Australia and NZ are quite capable of taking a couple of early wickets and then it just goes downhill from there. Jadeja and even Dhoni are not very confidence inspiring at the moment.

India were cautious from the start today and well done team India. The bench strength of bowling to be tested in the remaining matches to ensure we are ready for semi finals. India is most likely to play Bangladesh on 21march in the quarters and likely to meet Newzealand in semis.

Hah we won!

What a match! Decimated SA in front of a big crowd. We were initially worried about the bowling lineup but it looks like they did a good job.

I love the real time statistics shown by SAP. Eg. If SA bats second and the opposition team scores > 260, SA has a 27% chance of winning the match.

Oh and don't miss the new firecrackers ad:

Not just AB, we got CD EF GH also (the other good batsmen!) out to break the 0-3 jinx against South Africa in World Cup matches
Hope this is really the "peaking at the right time" moment and sustains till the end of the World Cup at least

Gaylestorm!

Hits 215 off 147 balls, first batsman to score a double ton in a world cup match, second West Indies player after Brian Lara to cross 9000 runs, 372 run partnership - highest in ODI history for any wicket, 16 sixes equalling the record for the highest number of sixes in an ODI match.

Looks like somebody gave Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels an offer they couldn't refuse ?! Can't believe the same guys were batting disastrously in the Ireland and Pakistan encounters.

Well, it isn't without reasons. Prior to world cup,
1) Captain seemed uninterested in the match proceedings.
2) Batsmen feared staying at the wicket.
3) Bowlers sprayed the ball without control.
4) Fielding was shoddy.

If the team had shown same interest & commitment, they could have won the tri-series. It is the same team. They lacked the instincts to perform well in the tri-series.

Maybe they didn't like Cameron's retirement package

Dave Whatmore coach of Zimbabwe team looked like Dave Nomore after looking at Chris Gayle's histrionics.

Gayle storm literally destroyed Zimbabwe's chance of an upset. Records just kept tumbling when he was on crease. Also responsible were Zimbabwe's wayward bowling, too many runs given on Byes, No Balls, wides etc. No wonder WI score 207 runs in last 15 overs at a rate of 13 runs per over. All Zimbabwe can now do is to pray to the rain gods and the entire match is washed out.
