Opera for me. Ofcourse you can't escape using IE cuz its there on your machine all the time, but prefer opera any day. Did use firefox too for a couple of months when opera was not working with our firewall. Nice browser than one too....but then just got so habituated to using opera and I prefer using the keyboard to the mouse anyday...opera makes it much easier to do that...right now using the 8.1 version.....it kicks IEs butt

Cheers!!!

opera....just upgraded to 8.01.
Its great!

Mouse gestures are what got me hooked to opera a long time back.

OPERA USERS!
Just FYI, there is a program called "Stroke it". With that you can use mouse gestures in windows too. Its easy to customise.

I forgot where I downloaded it from, but a search on google should get it for you.

Mostly I use Firefox for the tabbed browsing it allows but hate it for the amount of memory it hogs after a couple of hours usage. Love its search function.
Avant (IE with tabbed browsing) is better as far as memory issues are concerned but it still has the basic IE stupidity.

Was using IE for almost 8 years .. But shifted to Fireox 6 months back and very happy with it... Specially when u r downloading a file you can pause it and continue at a later time which is not possible in IE

I use IE & Opera

With ActiveX gone, 90% of the spyware is blocked off. You can disable activeX in IE, but that means everything including Flash and Java etc get blocked,
Not entirely true. Even with ActiveX gon you can still get viruses, spywares unless user is not educated enough

also blocking ActiveX won't necessarily affect Flash & Java
very few websites use activeX to run java appletes (activeX gives ability to perform local operations)
also you have a choice not to allow to install ActiveX

Quote:
Mozilla Firefox of course. Any other browser is just an invitation to trouble.
there are more browsers in this world than Firefox & IE
viz., Opera very very very secure

also I don't think giving M3 optimized executable is a good idea as not everyone will be on same processor

Hey GTO, i have heard that Opera users are not able to open gmail. Is that true?
Opera 8.01 works flawlessly with Gmail
I have been using it
V8 also used to wrk however there was memory leak issue which got sorted out in recent update

Quote:
But yes, there are some sites (like webshots.com) which Opera cannot open. I use the regular explorer for those kinda sites.
There is a UA.ini file in your profile folder
eiditing which you can completly hide opera id from user agent string
if you want further info PM me

There is great disparity between opinions about the speed. Firefox developers (and many supporters) claim that page rendering is actually much faster than IE's, while a lot of people (like you apparently) claim its the other way round.
rendering speed also depends upon which webpages you visit & elements embedded into them
overall both web browsers are equally matched

Also Firefox might feel slow because its based on XML & gives you *FEEL* of being slow

could you please give as what stupidity

It also depends on how you configure the browser to render. Some people like to render *after* the page is completely downloaded, some people prefer to display page *while* it is being downloaded. (FireFox can be tweaked to do that). The later option gives a feeling that page is rendered faster.

If you use FireFox and are stuck up at few "IE only" pages, IE Tab is a wonderful extension. You could earlier use "IE View" extension to open a link in IE, but it was slow, since it used to launch IE first and then load the page. "IE Tab" works as tabbed IE inside FireFox. By clicking a small image on statusbar below, you can toggle between FireFox and IE for that tab.

I found it quite useful, but it might have few bugs as well. (Not that I have come across myself).

Thumbs up

Come on guys, vote for Firefox !

Been using for almost one year now, a tweaked one .
It doesnt crash unlike IE and I love its Tabbed browsing, themes and etc

get firefox. less spams, pop-ups, advts ( try running Adware when you use IE to browse a page and when you use Firefox; you can see the that firefox attracts less spams/advts)

firefox can be tweaked for your preference too.

That is because Ad Aware scans IE cache memory & not Firefox cache
