A collection is good even if you have only two cars and you absolutely love them.

Something really Nice...

The top 101 reasons you know your a diecast collector.
101) First you are taking the time to read this stupid list.
100) Not having to worry about door dings when parking in a parking lot.
99) Your furniture is old and worn out and your display cabinets are in pristine condition.
98) You no no longer have to worry about oil changes every 2,500 miles.
97) You hate snowstorms because they can prevent the delivery drivers from showing up on time.
96) Your on a first name basis with the local hobby shop employees/owner.
95) You know the value of the term bargain hunting.
94) At Christmas, all the presents has little holes in them because your tried to see what new model Santa will be bringing you.
93) Never ever having to worry about the kids spilling snacks in the back seat of your new car.
92) You cannot lose an argument with an inanimate object.
91) While looking at your collection, you peek over your shoulder to make sure no one sees you talking to yourself or your models.
90) Chances of having atleast one corner of your house clean 24 hours a day is 100% in your favor, as long as that corner houses your display cabinets.
89) You do not have to worry about pollution nor emptying the earths oil resources.
88) You have taken a model car outside to photograph.
87) Your kids wonder why all of their books are neatly displayed on the floor
while their book cases have diecast models on them.
86) No more valet parking, you can put your own car on display.
85) You email model companies after each motorsports race asking when will the winner be released.
84) You think about getting a job at the post office.
83) When you buy stuff at a toy store you never ask for the items to be gift wrapped.
82) Recycling means storing your boxes neatly so they aren’t damaged.
81) Model cars saves money on batteries.
80) Gas is Cheaper
79) Your idea of interior decorating is moving your display cabinets around.
78) The first thing you do when you wake up in the morning is check out your collection.
77) You pretend not to be offended when people who see your collection refer to them as toys.
76) You separate your money in your wallet, “diecast money” and “other”.
75) You go to the movies anticipating to see a car in the movie made in 1:18 scale.
74) You make a grocery list and all you can think of is model cars to put on it.
73) Singing along with the Ebay song is easier to do now.
72) Your display cases take up the majority of space in your apartment.
71) Never losing your car keys as your doors are always unlocked on your models.
70) To celebrate a personal accomplishment, you treat yourself to a new model.
69) When showing people your collection, you can barely talk as thoughts of “off limits” and “do not touch” rush through your head.
68) You make “vroom vroom” sounds when your looking at your models.
67) While looking for a new place to live, looking for a place to put your cabinets is a prerequiste.
66) You spend your 15 minute break at work dusting your models you have on your desk.
65) The word “model” refers to 1:18 and “super model” refers to “1:12″.
64) While friends are out partying on Friday nights, your on eBay looking for that “Holy Grail”.
63) You have an easier time looking at a 1:1 car crash than you do a damaged model car.
62) You find 2nd day delivery too long to wait for a package.
61) Your the only guy in the beauty isle buying make up brushes. (providing your a male)
60) No worry of your car stereo getting nicked.
59) You time your eBay auctions to end on pay day.
58) While away from home, you wonder what your models are doing or if they are safe.
57) You go to the BMW Dealer to order a dealer edition model and park around the corner because your too embarrassed to pull up in your beater car.
56) You complain about the price of gas more than you complain about shipping charges.
55) Your friends and family always know what to get you for presents.
54) You do a dance when finally adding that “Holy Grail” to the display cabinets.
53) You have absolutely no idea how Excel works if it doesn’t have your collection inventory on it.
52) You go home during your lunch break to see if the mail has come and left you a package.
51) No gas-guzzler tax on your Hummer.
50) You go to the store for milk and bread anc come home with diecasts you found at the store.
49) If you get separated from your wife in a shopping mall the best place to find you is at the toy store.
48) Model cars saves time on assembly.
47) The first words out of your newborns baby’s mouth is “don’t touch”.
46) Rearranging your furniture solely depends on where your display cabinets will go.
45) After joining DiecastXchange, your keyboard no longer has numbers on it.
44) You can get a brand new car every month…too bad you cannot ride IN it.
43) you think everyone who isn’t a collector knows what your refering to when you say “dog legs”.
42) You can drink and drive(read=handle your models) without risk of injuring yourself or someone else.
41) You recognize the acronyms of model companies.
40) When seeing a cabinet of any type, you picture your model cars on it.
39) Your now a Google scholar as you know all the keywords to search for a model.
38) You encourage your wife to spend extra money on that new outfit, as this will give you the perfect excuse for spending extra money on diecasts.
37) You see a car and wish you had it, in 1:18!
36) You purchase a new camera for the specific purpose of taking photos of your model cars.
35) You can still buy used with zero mileage.
34) The value of your collection is more than what your current 1:1 is worth.
33) You still live at home in your mothers basement or attic.
32) You refer to real cars as 1:1
31) You hold your diecast models more gently than you do your kids.
30) If something in the engine doesn’t look right, it doesn’t matter, the hood will always be down anyways. Sealed if you bought any models from Aa’s Motorsports Line.
29) All of your son’s friends know that they are getting a diecast for their birthday gift, and they have come to expect it!
28) In heavy traffic, you pass the time by seeing how many of the cars you have in 1/18.
27) You dust your models every day and then sit down to watch television that is covered with dust…and it doesn’t bother you.
26) Four hours of sleep is good as it allows you to spend that much more time on DiecastXchange.
Ready for the Top 25 reasons you know your a model collector?
25) The cost of owning a scale model suits your bank account much better than owning the 1:1.
24) Your wife is certain that you don’t have a mistress because she thinks it’s impossible for a woman to stand your collection.
23) You spend the day driving all over town to check all the big box stores for models.
22) If you meet someone with the same model car, they become an instant buddy.
21) You don’t have a living will, but you have a wish list and top 10 list.
20) Your driveway is empty of old cars that don’t run and kids toys, so that the delivery truck can back in easily.
19) You eat Ramen Noodles and Macaroni and Cheese on alternating days.
18) You see a nice car on TV or on the street and smile cause you have one on display.
17) Your friends think your a mathematical genius when they hear you say 1:18 - 1:43 - 1:24 - 1:6 - 1:1.
16) You don’t have to be rich to have the most expensive car in your garage.
15) While reading this stupid list, you will come up with your own stupid reason that is not listed and post it.
14) When you get an unexpected bill, you think of the models that you could had bought with the money.
13) You won’t write your loved one a letter or email, but you will spend all day chatting on DiecastXchange.
12) Your wristwatch is always 5 minute fast - so that you don’t miss that last minute Ebay Auction.
11) When you go to a car show, you go straight to the diecast section and walk right past the Bikini Team exhibition without stopping.
Now the Top 10 reasons you know your a model collector:
10) Even while broke, you will always find a way to come up with $50…and then blow it on a model car.
9) Dinner and a movie for a date: $20 Bottle of fine wine: $2.50 New model car: PRICELESS
8) You ensure your light bill and gas bill are cheaper than what they used to be - so that you can have more money for models.
7) Your doctor seriously recommends a hobby and you now have one that is dangerous to your health, finance and relationship(s).
6) Now that your a collector, 1 pair of shoes, 1 pair of slacks and one shirt lasts longer than they used to.
5) You don’t have a personal 1:1 of your own and it doesn’t concern you as much as not having that new release.
4) Knowing a new arrival is about to be released is all the motivation you need to stick out that stinky job.
3) You don’t have to be all that great looking to have the coolest car in town.
2) When you go to other peoples homes, you look around to see where you would put your cabinets.
And now for the #1 reason you know your a model collector:
1)You will laugh at yourself for being able to understand and relate to 100 things on this stupid list.

@MustangMan : I bought those cars in Mumbai itself. The 288 is mattel, the SL55 Safety car is Maisto and the EVO is an Autoart.

Very true. A big collection builds up from one and one by one. Be passionate about them even if you have only two in yoru collection.

My model store 'King of Hobbies' has shut too. They said theyre closed to move to a new place but they havnt decided where yet. :( Im devastated. Id eyed some 5-6 models I wanted to buy over a period of time. Anyway went and bought a glass shelf from ikea yesterday and its come out well. The garage display is superb. Ill take some pics and post. By the way thinking of visiting Exoto Tifosi at Ibn Battuta and buying my first Exoto. Ive been thinking about it for a while, but now Im scared these shops will shut down. So just might go today.

Go for the Exotos man. They are worth every bit you spend on them. Check out the Porsche 959 and the old Ferrari F1s
