i no longer go to the one on Brigade road - parking etc.
the one on richmond road is much bigger
but frankly any day I prefer going to ModelArt - I vastly prefer Auto Art 1:43 Scale models - their detailing and quality is TOPS - well worth the expense.
but of late - last 7-8 months I ve not seen many new ones in their collection that I want to own. \
Or else what theyve had in the shop, when I visited, I ve already got with me in my collection.

Default The American Beauties

3. 1955 Ford Thunderbird

Another Yat Ming. The model came with an optional hardtop (note the last pic). Very beautiful rendering of the first Thunderbird model.

4. 1957 Chevrolet Corvette Hotrod

A Hotrod version of the 1957 classic. I'm not aware if such a hot rod rendering exists in real life. The model though, looks neat, with the NACA duct atop the bonnet and period instrumentation. Nice flame job, no?

Default Jaguar XJ220

And last, the stunning 1992 Jaguar XJ220. This is a Maisto, a gift from a dear friend, and the only 1:24 in my collection.

Absolutely love this thread. Beautiful collections. I am posting one of mine. I am a new T-BHP member, so do forgive any mistakes in my posting. It is a Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16 (Nurburgring 1984 Winner), by AUTOart. Hope the photo is visible.

@flotsam - Very good detailing on those Mercs, especially considering such a small scale. Where did you acquire these models from? Also, check out my collection of mercs 2 pages back.

Incidentally, CMC has recently launched a model of the very rare 1954 Mercedes Benz transporter in both 1:18 and 1:43 scale. The former costs USD 230!!!

@abhishek_bmw - Kolkata is fast running out of options for dedicated scale model shops. Upto 2005, there were 2 outlets which kept a good collection - Wonderland Toys in Park Street, and Wonder Land (separate shop, no "toys" in the name) at Gariahat, below Meghamallar complex. Now the Park Street Shop has stopped keeping models altogether. The Gariahat shop still has some collection left.

Another place that stocks a decent collection is Landmark (the book store inside Emami Super Market, Lord Sinha Road).

Incidentally, I've received news that a school classmate of mine has now become distributor for Bburago, Maisto and Auto Art in Kolkata. For obvious reasons, I'm trying to source his number now. Will pass on to you once found.

Hi PW: yes, I saw your stunning Merc collection! Really beautiful. I got mine from sg. Yes, I saw the M-B Transporter in 1:18: it was very tempting, but the price is really a bit too much.
