phew!!!
I used to go to Okinawa Karate classes few years back. It was 60/- a month. Even after 7 years now, they just charge 100/- a month. (and sometimes they feel bad that they had to increase the fees owning to the rent of the place!!!!)

even in bangalore they were charging some 2.5k odd for a short course, probably only the basics. i was interested in adopting it for a longer term that is why did not pursue the same and am still looking out for someone to practice with.

i guess every city has YMCA,
you can there. same goes with every one. try with the YMCA in your city/town

Also, you can enquire in the nearby indoor stadiums as they are the places which host any such events. Go to the stadium, when such an event is being held. Talk to the instructors. (OH!, its like the auto expo )

Also you can try with the people working for newspapers who cover the local sports news.

But, how serious are you??

thanks for the suggestions kkr, regarding seriousness, this thing has been there with me for quite some time but getting delayed in my search for something closer to my place as i have told i wanted it for a regular exercise routine and not something once in a while. i am recuperating from a shoulder surgery which means i can't go back to the weights again much.. so looking for something mild to keep fit.

once in a while activities can be taken up regardless of convenience, but with work and everything else to attend to, i'd not be able to pursue it for long at a distant place, hence trying to find out here.
