It would definitely fit seeing that people have fitted a RD28 engine in the Safari, a 3 litre straight six diesel. But why in the worls would you want to do that in a Safari. The brakes definitely would not handle the power.
I would suggest a Standard 2000! Or, how about an older model W124?

yeaa or a old bmw 316 or 320 or 325 would be perfect - i personal have some friends who have put 300 bhp + engines in bmw 3series old ones - and brakes can always be updated
