"Mercedes" and "Diesel" are two most favorite words for Indians. When they are together, you can understand the high resale value.

I would suggest:

1. You also look at C200 CDIs.

2. Extend your budget and buy a new C220. Discounts are aplenty since the model is in its final year. The EMI on a used C220 may be within a hairs breadth of the EMI on a new C220.

All the best with your search!

Default Just a Note !

  1. C220 and 200 , I feel te major difference is fairly cosmetic and in the used car market the price difference between them is unjustified coz the 220 and 200 both share the same engine .
  2. You can get similar levels of perfomance from the 200 after an aftermarket tuning box like Karlsson
  3. C220(Latest) has awesome interiors . The fit and finish is really wonderful in comparison to the C200 CDI.
  4. I gotta say one thing C220 CDI with black interiors is one of the sportiest looking car in the Indian market this side of 20 ;acs

Bro, I dunno where you are getting your info from but the C200 CDi and C220 CDi DONT share the same engine by any means. The C220 is much more powerful and torquey.
Also, tuning boxes such as Karlsson are verrryy expensive and not feasilbe to fit on a C200CDi,you much rather spend that extra cash for a C220.

.
I beg to differ, the engines are the same but the level of tune is different. Great profit making strategy while maintaining economies of scale

Sahil, the engines are identical. The difference is the ECM.

Offtopic: Doesn't the C180 also share the same engine with a different ECM?

Sir , I have a friend running on Karlsson, and I dont think its too expensive (for a prospective MBIL customer) . Please check the used car market and check the difference in prices , you will understand the logic then. No offense meant and none taken

The C180 is petrol, while the C200 / 220 that we are discussing are diesel.

If you meant the C200K Petrol, then again the answer is no. The C180 actually had a NA 2.0 liter petrol engine, while the C200K is a supercharged 1.8 liter engine.
