Default I think i need them :-)

@sam
I guess swift doors arent built for these speakers...

Since B & T has suggested that its ideal application would be for a home.

I have a second home theater setup consisting of the following.

1) Onkyo entry level 5.1 reciever( 100rmsx5)
2) 2 book shelf speakers from Pro-fx
3) sony kevlar center speakers and surrounds
4) 12 inch 150 RMS Sony Sub

The weak link:
The weak link is point 2 i think is the book shelf speakers( 6.5 inch full range aluminum cone 35 RMS+ titanium dome tweeter) which is not able gel with the 12 inch sub.

If these peerless speakers can handle more RMS with sweet mid range, can i replace these aluminum cones with the peerless ones. The book shelf wooden boxes are quite deep (depth)at 14 inches+ i think.

If yes can i have them. I will post the picture of the speakers i have at present later.

Outcome: The offer is off.

Side Effects: I was in day long meetings, crashed to sleep when I reached home (I did login to T-BHP) and by the time I reach back at the desk today, Sam has already shut the offer. Bah!!

Sam, I have been contemplating a TMM for sometime, and 6.5" are well suited for the same. But seeing the time spend (or lack of it) on it so far, I do not want to deprive someone of a pair of drivers. But, this is a great thing that you did. And with B&T, Navin and others pitching in to help, you have probably spawned off a DIY movement among... car enthusiasts!

I am also waiting for all those creative applications of the drivers. Now the question is, are you planning to do something similar with the spare JBL/Infinity drivers??

I need a pair of them as err....hmmm....lets see........I need them coz..........err.....er..........Suddenly a guy walks in next to me, confidently reaches out his hand and says " Moods please " .

Moral of the story : Even if you are sure of not getting it ask for it

Okay Now I will explain why I really need them
  • I have an Alpine headunit running a pair of coaxial in the rear( S type ) , a pair of tweeters + 2way speakers in the front .
  • Recently the front speakers have started sounding like how I sing and in short its not very soothing . So I disconnected the front speakers and right now the head unit is running on a pair of co-axials and tweeters and I would like to hook a good pair of frotn speakers as the sound has gone all time low especially in the front
  • Do I qualify for the prize ?

Sam,

How about giving me a pair ? What would I do with it ?? Well would keep it safe for you till the time you feel like starting a 100% free offer thread !!

btw- can this work as the octy's peechu speakers ?

EDIT - If I do get a pair Sam, please deliver them to my house as it is Do It Yourself (DIY)

a) given that these woofers are 4 ohms TMM would mean that your woofer be connected in series.

b) If FREE does not start a DIY movement, I dont know what will. There are already other sorts of movement on this forum why not a DIY one?

c) as per B&T's advice these woofers are best used for the home and not the car so I would think that those brave souls who intend to build home speakers should have the first go. (this is just my opinion).

d) I dont think Sam expected a stampede. He probably figured "Navin will take all of them and build one big tall bipole line source using 32 drivers per side" or something along those lines. Well Sam i did not bite LOL becasue

a) my wife will kill me
b) if my wife dont kill me my mom will (as the speaker will end up wiht her)
c) I have a few unfinished audio projects and collecting any more parts (even if they are free) is forbidden at home.
d) I am saving up my brownie points for the pair of JBL 2245s that you will soon offer for FREE. LOL.

DidI say FREE?

PS.
LOL. Just kidding. Before everyone starts PMing Sam for the 2245s please note that I was kidding.

so till B&T coughs up the specs
and
we decide on a sutiable tweeter (and other suitable applications like a fullrange center or surrond)
and
the brave souls (home audio wannabes) are accounted for

I think we can chill. I think we can revisit this offer in 24-48 hours.

What say Sam? - you the boss - Posession is 9/10th of the law.

Well, the 5.25" would technically fit in the octy's peechu position, but won't sound good. These drivers are designed to be boxed. and you won't get any highs from the rear.
