here is my list of top 5 cars of yester years (sold in India, well that how i would prefer the title to be!).

1.contessa my first love!

2.Mahindra 540dp jeep this was my dad's first car and i get very nostalgic till date when i see one!

3.maruthi 800 version 3 grill upgraded one 94 model, well this is the car i learnt to drive in first!

4.standard 2000 my alltime favourite design!

5.fiat uno D the car i loved every bit of it for its engine and performance at its time!
(the only car in the list above i did not drive was standard 2000)

now here is the list of the current top 5

1.accent viva crdi , we have one at home just love the monster, i enjoy all the scrambles i do with it, i have put on 25000kms on it till date!

2.skoda octavia RS, well basically i just love the design of the car sort of resembles my all time favourite standard 2000's design, and i choose the RS model for the performance, handling and build quality!

3.chevrolet optra both old(petrol) and new optra magnum diesel, man they both rock especially the diesel, or the OHC vtec, for the classy look and performance.

4.fiat palio 1.6 GTX, or the opel corsa 1.6 both equal for me in terms of performance, handling and build!

5.chevrolet tavera 2.4l, man this is one stable suv on highways, the one we own has successfully done 1lac25000+kms without any major problems, and still rocks, its turbo engine reminds me of my viva!

i have only mentioned the cars i drove(except skoda octavia RS, drove 1.9tdi), mentioned a few exceptions, others i dont very high opinion so checked them off the list.

1- Suzuki Baleno (Super Performance)
2- Honda City VTec (Super Performance part 2)

3- BMW 5 Series (Ultra Classy and Sober)

4- Pajero (Off Road use)

5- Contessa (Probably the only Indian Muscle Car)

Given a chance i wud throw in a V8 engine into the contessa and actually make it an Indian muscle.

Guess I've covered all the categories of cars a person would like to have from the Indian market... City use and Race, Business class, Off road and multi utility and finally good old vintage muscle
