To me Fiat, Tata and Maruti cars are perfect for Indian road conditions. Mainly Fiat and Tata as they are sturdy and lasts long. I remember the first car i ever drove- a blue color Fiat and the next crush was Tata Siera, latest one you can say Sumo Grande. I was waiting for something new, fresh and exciting from Tata's stable I can say Grande is the one i liked recently after Safari Dicor.

1. The Humble 800 (reliability and ease of use redefined)
2. Skoda Ovtavia vRS 1.8, specifically the yellow version, sadly discontinued, I believe (Drool Drool!!)
3. Honda City VTEC (super performance and eons ahead of the erstwhile competition)
4. The old Zen, that is the MH 410 and its immediate successor, and not the Estilo and its immediate predecessor (if you know what I mean)
5. The Swift, for being an enthusiats delight, both the Petrol and the DDIS.
I have purposely kept my selections down to earth, and not extravagantly priced ones, save for the expensive vRS.

1. Bolero Sportz & 2. Scorpio - Mahindra has done a fantastic job.
3. Rover Montego - Amazing car - badly handled by Sipani in India.
4. Sipani Dolphin (Station Wagon Type) - easily years ahead of its time with its fibreglass (Fibre Reinforced Plastic actually) body and amazing maneuverability - badly marketed, badly serviced, badly handled.
5. Maruti 800 DX (Old shape) 1987 model like I had - lovely car.
6. How can i not mention the beautiful old Standard Herald - I would love to buy one and keep it, using it sparingly on weekends maybe!

My top 5 would be (in no particular order):

1. Maruti 800 - For giving india 4 wheels to drive on. My grandad still has his '84 model, which was the 54th to be sold in the country.

2. Old City V-tec - Loved the rev-happy nature of the car

3. Suzuki Swift

4. Ocatvia RS

5. Honda Civic
