Default A bit different here

My middle class brain chooses -

1. Fiat Palio Stile 1.6 Sport - Where does the power come from ? Yet to understand that this doesn't have a dedicated fan club in India.
2. Honda City - Was,Is and will be one of the most refined piece of machine put together on the road
3. Skoda Octavia - Heavy looker with great thump. Maximises what's eurpoean into the car.
4. Zen (Old) - I am convinced that Maruti killed a great brand name. Superb engine with a very peppy feel. A class act in the 1L league.
5. Mitsubishi Lancer - A rollicking vehicle in it's initial days. One of the Japanese machines with oodles of luxury and smoothness.

I loved this list - well thought out and cogent.

You might however check out the Palio Users Group on Yahoo groups, the Palio 1.6 has a loyal fan following (including me). If you do not believe me, try bashing a Fiat here and you will see the fans come out in strength!

For most Palio fans - the best variant with the 1.6 engine was the limited edition S10, the next is the GTX SP (with ABS & Airbag), followed by the GTX PS, these three were in the original body style sold in India, the Stile avatar of the 1.6 brings up the rear.

Default The most fun to drive cars in India

Hey everyone.

I thought this might be useful to a few people (including myself). Just putting together a list of the fun to drive cars in India. For the sake of the majority, lets keep the budget down to below 30L. When you cross that mark almost every car is fun to drive all the way from the 5 series to the drool worthy Lamborghinis.

Off the top of my head (and based on what I've read here and on other websites). Let me start off the list in no particular order.

1. Getz CRDi
2. Verna CRDi

Well I'll stick my neck out and add the Skoda Superb to the many other great Indian cars. Assuming that we forget the ***, we're talking about only the car in this case. And what a cracker of a car it is!!
