Although its really a matter of personal choice but I would like to differ a bit. Honda Civic is a really good car with styling that still looks sharp, great interior styling but then atleast in my books its not 'perfect'. Although the engine is quite good and has decent performance but its not as entertaining as the old corolla's motor. Also, its handling is something I really wished was better as it would had really complimented the sporty credentials of the car. The handling although much better than corolla is simply not as sorted as a Jetta and when pushed hard the civic doesn't really make you feel as confident as the european cousins.
Apart from this flaw (infact, not really a flaw) the civic is a good car though I would have liked more equipment as well, considering that the Altis is loaded with quite a few bells and whistles.

But I do agree that it could have been "simply perfect" (in its segment) if not for these two issues.

1) M800 - Put a nation on wheels - and my ride in college - so extremely fond memories linked to it.
2) Mitsubishi Lancer - Style and handling - still tugs my heart.
3) M Gypsy - Light weight go anywhere
4) Mercedes E 220 (W124) - the first Indian 3 pointer - has the classic tank like lines
5) Honda City Vtec Crystal lights - inexpensive rocket power.

I wonder why the Fiat 1100 and Amby's are not considered one of the top ones along with the Maruti 800. These old horses served India for a very considerable amount of time

Have to participate in this one . In no-particular order, the top-5 for me are:

a. Tata Sierra (for an impressionable 15 year old, when the Sierra came out, it set the pulses racing).

b. Maruti Suzuki 800 - SS80 DX (red ).
c. Honda City 1.5(First gen.).
d. Fiat Punto
e. Ford Ikon
