i just got a throaty exhaust job done on my car......so its just the vroom of the exhaust right now.....otherwise its dire straits....or green day or something like coldplay and in hindi music i like jal and strings and atif aslam....but the song i think aids me the most in driving is one of the songs easily available online called 100 greatest guitar solos:stairway to heaven
by led zeppelin.....well everyone knows its by led zeppelin but while downloading u must make sure u download the solo(7+ minutes)....well while driving to murud under the open sky with no other light than the lights of my car this is the song that opened the stairway to heaven for me.....listen to the solo version while driving(if possible alone) and you will really think theres something really magical about this song.....for your info this SONG IF PLAYED BACKWARD TOO HAS A MEANING....FOR FURTHER INFO SEE:http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/stairway.php
AND YOU WILL NOT SLEEP THE NIGHT OUT OF CURIOUSNESS!!!!!!!!

Talking Music for our cars!!!

hey ppl.. i'm a music lover and listen to all genres of music.. i have always had a tough time picking music for my car.. so thought of starting a thread in which everyone can post a list of their favourite music while driving, be it techno, retro, rock, pop, hiphop, jazz, metal, etc. so that we can come up with a good collection of audio cds from all genres, which we can call the "evergreen team-bhp music collection"

happy posting
cheers!
Shrivz...

P.S. Good music wont do.. we're looking for the best!!!

It's always rock and metal (all the genres) playing in my car (the ones that have stereos in em). When i'm in one of my moods it's hip-hop (my fav. being Act a Fool by Ludacris)!

Godspeed.

Alok.

While driving I like a lot of music with open spaces, well orchestrated dark sombre, new age ambient distortion sort of music.
I like Godspeed you Black Emperor!, Bardo Pond, The silver mount zion orchestra and tra'la'la band and sometimes, if I'm in the mood, it'll be Clint mansell and Aphex twin too.
Otherwise my girlfriends in the car and then she kinda goes mad with this, so we listen to some good rock/ soft rock/ country. Sometimes James Taylor, sometimes Mark Knopfler, sometimes CCR, sometimes Phil Collins. So i guess I'll vote for Easy Listening.
You dont have Post Rock, Ambient or new age there.

For me its either hip-hop or rap most of the time. Otherwise its some nice english pop songs or new gen hindi remix's. Not much of a fan of hard rock tho', but listen to some of it as well. All depends on the mood and occasion
