An embarrassing point in Germany's history of music lol.

NO, I would not listen to it voluntarily. Unless we are doing some karaoke and are drunk, then it is good for a lot of laughter. Same with David Hasselhoff! Don't know what was going on with us Germans in the 80-ies.

That was not meant to be sarcastic comment, seriously I quite like Modern Talking a lot because

1. They compose great music
2. They have this association with cars in every video, 'You can win if you can' features'a Porsche, 'Ready for the Victory' features a 60's Mustang. Moreover they made the songs "Ready for the victory' and 'Win the Race' especially for the German F1 telecasts.

About the what happened to the Germans in the 80's , did it happen in the late 90's too because if I remember correctly the group got united once again in the late 90's and the subsequent album was quite a success in Germany. Must say 'The Tragedies of the past continue to haunt the Present'.hmm.

Quote:
In the beginning of 1998,"modern talking" the duo "reunited", and had their first performance together in March on Germany's biggest TV show "Wetten, dass..?." Their first comeback album "Back for Good" which included four new tracks as well as all of the previous hits redone with modern techniques not only stayed at number one position in Germany for five consecutive weeks but also went to "number one" in 15 other countries, eventually selling six million units world-wide.They won the award at "World Music Awards" for being the "Best Selling German Band" that year
However to each his own, however I must say this group was damn good.

Oh and for those wondering as to which group I am talking about here's the video featuring the Mustang. Can anyone identify the black car in the beginnning of this video ?

Talking of Geramny here's a vido link to another one of my fav songs also German-Scorpions-Rock you like a Hurricane-(2000) great concert and song

Acoustic version of the same

Like to listen to these songs most of the times:

With or Without You (Keane's version)
A Million Parachutes (SixPence None The Richer)
Lover After Me ( Savage Garden)
On A Day Like Today ( Bryan Adams)
Dilli (Rabbi Shergill )

This song by Rabbi really brightens up my mood .. whenever I am driving thru any Delhi road which is devoid of all traffic !!!

I don't know about the Keane version but the U2 version is just one heck of a song in fact it is the only one to employ the use of an infinite guitar.

Shine on you crazy diamond by Floyd is an all time favorite.
Like to turn up the volume at the signal next to the auto guy sometimes with Waltz in black by The Stranglers :-)
Down under by Men at Work
Bodhitree GMD to lighten the moment at times
Goodnight Saigon by Billy Joel
Few Meatloaf, this guy has an amazing voice!

Rest mostly '70s evergreen rock and ghazals.
