Sometimes the drive is so beautiful that the music one hears is directly associated with the surrounding...happened to me...when I used to have a Maruti 800 and once drove the old Pune Mumbai Ghat at night (the first ghat drive in my life and that too in the night) I was listening to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan as he was the latest rage about 10 yrs ago.....so when I am driving at night especially in the mountains I am often reminded of those songs....if my family is with me I am often teased as a trucker listening to qawwalis

Bob Marley... Hindi ones, I love Rahman and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan (Sufi), also anything by Himesh will also do, typically while I am driving in a start-stop condition (very often in Pune)

MLTR like 'u took my heart away" ohh thats a lovely lovely song.

I have diverse taste, from slow to fast TI raps to latest hindi. Latest going on is "love aaj kal". I do not like to hear jagjeet singh or old hindi in car.

These are the driving songs that I like, although they belong to totally different genres:
1. The Flame of Youth by Dragonforce
2. Sudha Manthram by Unnikrishnan (Composer Sharreth)
3. Devasabhathalam sung by Yesudas, Sharreth and Raveendran Master

Generally prefer songs composed by Ilayaraj , and Sharreth

1. Tool: Lateralus
2. Sufjan Stevens: Majesty snowbird, & Upper Peninsula
3. AR Rahman: Dhakka Laga Bukka (from the film Yuva)
4. Gojira: Art of Dying
5. Pink Floyd: Great Gig in the Sky (especially when im driving alone late in the night!)
6. NiN: Ghosts IV (the entire album)

Oh how I love this music!

Being a Rahman fanatic.. I basically listen to his collections.. If on highways, then MLTRs, Aerosmith, George Michael, Ronan Keating, Enrique etc. would be it..

I don't drive without music ON

I love fusion - Indian + western classical and Dr. L. Subramanyam being my favorite.

I have a huge collection of this genre of music including performances by L Shankar, John Mclaughlin, Sir Yehudi Menuhin, Pt.Ravi Shankar, Stephanne Grappelli, etc.

My all time favorites are

1. Conversations - by Dr. L. Subramanyam and Stephanne Grappelli
2. Live in Geneva - a Jugalbandhi by Dr.LS and Ustad Bismillah Khan
3. Dr.LS' live performance in Moscow.
4. Yanni - Live at Acropolis (I got the DVD too)

Others that I prefer on my drives are

1. Ilayaraja's Tamil Songs from 80's
2. His Highness Abdulla songs
3. Dr.KJJ's old Hindi songs
4. Sivamani's drums
5. Sounds of Isha

P.S: I haven't come across many people with my taste of music.
