Dude, you seem to have some wrong info I guess. The Diesel does not come in a 4.7L only 4.2L. What you must have been offered is the 2003 CYGNUS which is a 4.7L petrol and in 2003 came with the Tiptronic Gear Shift. The other option is that you could be offered a 2003 Amazon Landcruiser converted to the Lexus shpe by installing the new bonnet and headlights and tail lamps. If it is a genuine 2003 CYGNUS 4.7l the value of it is around 60L. Regarding the mileage it can be changed to anyhting u want at the change of a chip. So it is not necessarily a 1000km vehicle. I would highly doubt it is a 2004 as the vehicle would be very difficult to import. Please post the budget you are looking at to buy a vehicle and I might be able to help u.

| Senior - BHPian | If u r plannin to buy a brand new LC, i suggest u to wait for some more time. I guess the facelifted LC will be out in 2-3 months. Its gonna have a more powerful petrol engine. And its gonna be called the LX500.

Please inform me if you are looking at a Diesel or petrol option first. The X5 3L diesel strats at about 55 for a fresh import. The new Range Rover works out at about 65. In your budget the best option is a 2001 CYGNUS with 4.7 L V8 Petrol fresh import. The second choice is a 2001 Toyota Landcruiser 4.2L Diesel converted to the Lexus Shape with the twin headlamps and the bonnet and tail lamps. Both the above vehicles will work out in the 40-45 range. Japanese is the beat way to go as parts and service is very easily available. Waiing will not really get you anything hot as a new model in the international market whenever released will take at least 6-8 months to be imported into the country. So happy shopping. If you want to see any of the above cars in bombay drop me a PM and I can arrange them for you.

Simple rule of Thumb. Lexus only makes a petrol 4.7L V8 known as the LX 470. The same vehicle for the japanese market is called the Toyota Cygnus (since japan does not have the Lexus range). Both these vehicles come with the Twin Headlamps. What you usually get in India for the petrol version is the Japanese Cygnus with the Toyota badging removed and Lexus badging put. Some importers do not change the toyota badging and just add the LX 470 badge. Next is the Diesel version. These are all Toyota Landcruisers with the 4.2L engine. They come with a single headlamp and even the tail lamps and bonnet is different. These cars are imported from Japan to Dubai and then converted to the "L PACKAGE" to give it the LEXUS look. That means the single headlamp is removed and the twin headlamps from the lexus are put and also the bonnet gets changed to accomadate the new twin headlamps and then the Lexus tail lamps are put in the rear. Usually all the badging is also changed from Toyota to the Lexus L. Here again some dealers do not remove the toyota badging. So you see the LX 470 badge at the rear with toyota badges all around. Thats the funda. If you have any more queries please put them up.

Vishnu regarding you query abt the fresh imports. When I say fresh imports that means the car has already been imported to India within the last couple of months and that you will be the first owner. I know about 3 Landcruisers for sale. These are the 4.2L Diesel. All these cars have come into the country on Transfer of Residence and are not transferrable for 2 yrs. Duty has been fully paid and they have been imported according to the actual yr of manufacture. All 3 are in the 40-45 range according to the options. So if u are interested drop me a PM.
