Is anyone even thinking of the traffic jams in the monsoon period? What about the time taken to travel to and fro from work during that period?

I remember being stuck in traffic for good 4 hours one fine evening thanks to water logging at Hafizpet flyover.

Avi, Good thread, here goes my info!

Drive: Scorpio.
Work timings(probable):8:30am to 5:30pm(generally there is no end timing)
Route 1 to Maytas Hillcounty office: Sainikpuri > Bolarum > Kompally > Gandimaisamma X Roads > Bachupally > Maytas HillCounty
Distance covered one way: 29 kms
Time taken:40 min with healthy speeds, so I start at 7:30am or 7:45am
Route 2 to Hitech city office: Sainikpuri > tirumalgherry > Paradise junction > Begumpet > KBR gardens > JH Check post > Hitech city > Mindspace
Distance covered one way: 25 kms
Time taken: 40 min with healthy speeds
Most of the days I save myself from bad traffic jams, thanks to my office work timings Thats a Super LUXURY NOW!!

KPHB (Malaysian Township) to Hitech through Hitec Station Underpass (Both Ways).
Total Kms <12 (Both Ways)
Time Taken - At least 35-40 Mins (Each way)
Ride - Maruti Zen with Killer Tyres

I can actually see my township from my office....so close yet so far away....

During Monsoons i actually went through BHEL-Lingampally-Gachibowli-Hitech in the same amount of time (When the underpass was turned into a complimentary swimming pool for KPHB folks). This was to avoid spending a good 1.5+ Hours trying to reach office through Hafeezpet Bridge (I could literally see my township from the top of the bridge) during the monsoons.

On a higher side i can also recollect taking conference calls lasting 1+ hour at the underpass in traffic. (I think i would have reached office earlier if i had walked).

Forget monsoons, slight drizzle and traffic goes haywire and stuck for atleast 2.5 hours and you need to use great skill to negotiate and get out of that mess.

No wonder you and midlifecrisis enjoy that road to Shameerpet so much.

Default 40kms and 2.1 hours/day!

I drive from Andheri to Worli (Mumbai) a distance of ~ 20kms

I beat the morning traffic usually so takes me 35mins. (~0.6hrs)

I do get evening traffic ALWAYS! (traffic is same till right up to 10pm) so takes me 1.5hrs

I take the main roads - western express highway - Mahim - Shivaji Park - Prabhadevi - Worli (same route back).
