Austrailians make the other teams look like 1st class teams specially in the finals.

Happened in 2003 and 1999 WC.

Its now the battle betweem PROFESSIONALISM and FLAIR.

Can the SL flair be able to stop the professional Aussies ? My mind simply refuses to beleive this Murali nowithstanding. I WISH that the Lankans put it across to the Aussies but I don't see that happening , not in the World Cup Final atleast.

Aussies have more flair than any other team plus they are professionals to the core. this is a deadly combination.

I am supporting Australia in the finals. They deserve to win, they have been consisitant and play like winners.

Sri Lanka have two chuckers in Murli and Malinga. Very smartly they cry racism when their bowling action is 'called'. They don't deserve to play cricket, leave alone play in the WC.

PS: Don't you guys feel that Australia makes the game too boring? Their matches are totally one sided and the opposition in crushed no matter which team it is.

When Nasser Hussain was asked y'day who will win the finals?
He retorted: Sadly, Australia!
So do I!

Malinga can still be forgiven, but Murali is... darn what to say.... just see his action side-on when he bowls. The reasoning given is that his arm is bent since birth... jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez!

How come we are such experts when it comes to bio-mechanics ? The ICC panel has cleared him & the umpires dont have any problems, neither do the players. so whats the hassle, guys ? cant play him ? go to the nets. Brian Lara played him beautifully. Ponting will play him well.

SL has the firepower to unseat the Aussies. They need some luck though. Win the toss, bat first and hopefully Jayasuriya will blaze away to a fast 100, and get SL to a total of 300+. Then the strong SL bowling should knock over a few Aussies. But the odds favour the Aussies on a fast pitch (Barbados), where Murali may not be that effective.

It is very difficult to withstand the onslaught of Tait, Bracken and McGrath!

Here's my prediction for the finals

If SL bats first, they will struggle to a 200-220 score & the aussies will get that in 35-40 overs.

If Australia bat first, they will score between 300-425 & bowl out the lankans for less than 200.

either way it is an aussie victory, like it or not.

Remember how SA openers smashed Australians until their fielding came to their rescue.

I agree with RKS, If SL put 300 on board, it's very difficult for the aussies to chase the same (iam not saying its impossible). Hope SL wins the toss and elects to bat.

On the second semifinals, SA gifted their wickets to Aussies. Inspite of 27/5, they managed to score 150.

Having said that, Aussies are my favorite and wanted them to win the WC. But it should not be a one sided match. I love aussies sweat and take the cup

Since when are you an expert on biomechanics? IIRC, the ICC cleared the Lankans to bowl, and that should be the end of the story.

If you want to talk about cheating, remember the two Aussies caught giving bookies information? And how the Australian cricket board hushed it up? While you're at it, remember how Ponting and someone else got into a fight in a nightclub in Mumbai, and racially abused someone?

I'm behind SL, 200%.
