What a find. A W126 with less than 2 lac kilometers? Thats a virgin!

I remember going to the Bombay customs godown with a cousin, and he picked up a 400cc Yamaha/Honda for less than 75000. Great bike and even better price.

Would you happen to know of any such online inventory lists of Bombay customs?

However for Jun/Jul 2004 there are no cars on auction. Lots of gas turbines though. Anybody interested in fittin turbines in their cars ??

Lucky guy for picking up a 400CC bike for 75K ... u guys shud keep info like this on the net so that v guys in delhi or up north also stand a chance of getting lucky with deals like this. Another thing is that lets say I pick up a car from the auction for 5 lacs, do I have to pay duty on this too ? ANd wat usually is the condition of these vehicles, also any idea as to how much will the toyota MR2 go for ?
Wud luv to get my hands on that ....but i guess trhere are plenty of others out there with the same thought ...:(

hey guys,

today i and manx went and checked out the cars at the chennai customs.

we had a look at all the cars. they didn't let us start the cars.

here's the report:

1)the bike- daelim daystar(dark red) is in a very good condition. good paint work. nice alloy rims . looked lot similar to aquila. worth 40-50k.

2)toyota chaser(white,rhd)- this car is in a very bad state. 1st of all, the bodyline was not straight and there were uneven panel gaps. there was half of the left side crashed and repainted. the roof was totally banged up. guess it was during the transportation.

3) toyota camry(lhd)- this car's front passenger door cudn't even close. this too was banged. there was 93k odd miles on the odo.

4) mazda 929- this car was an old boxy ,bright red,alloy rimmed, rear disc-ed car. didn't like the car because of its dated looks

5) here's the best part

TOYOTA MR2(black)-this rear engined beauty looked damn sexy. it had engine vents behind the rear wind shield. the vehicle is from dubai( thats what the license plates say). the tyres don't matter as they need a complete new set . had pop-up head lamps. it said gts2 on the badge.

we both loved the MR2.

all the other cars were not available.
today i cudn't have seen all this cars if it weren't for manx. he was the one who arranged the whole thing.
