Default Wanted: Alto/WagonR/Zen/Swift

Hi guys.
I am upgrading from my 9yr old ride, my Maruti 800 STD.
I am on the look out for a good used car for myself.

Budget is upto 2.5L (but may be stretched to 3L for that dream deal)

I guess the choices in my hand are Alto, WagonR, Zen, Esteem and maybe even Swift.

Alto is very frugal.
WagonR has best practicality.
Zen is cute little fun car.
Swift was favoured by my dad. (but doubtful of it's fuel economy)
Esteem is old time fav. A mid sizer with competent running costs.

So there is the confusion and I have left that to whatever good comes in the budget.

I am located in Ludhiana, Punjab.
So Punjab cars are preferred, but can go till delhi also if Complete papers including NOC is promised.
Thanks.

No surprises, my choice is a MPFI esteem VXi. Absolute VFM at 2.5L. I dont think you will get a swift at that price considering how it is selling right now.

With a budget of 3L, why not get a brand new Alto LXi?

Yes, Swift run for around 20k kms can be got easily here for 2.9 or 3L as they dont have much re-sale value (bad fuel economy)

Yes. It was a bloody good long drive.

This car was bought by my Bro in law when he was working in Mohali. He soon changed his job and was sent to US of A. This car was given to me and was told to do as I wish. I chose to use it.
Now after 2 years and 2 kids, it's time for a sedan. So, this cute small thingy is for sale.

@ScarySkulls. PM me if interested.

I was under the impression that Swift is best in FE in its segment (B+). My car returns me an average of 14. In 100% city road conditions, it never returned me less than 12 kmpl.

What is your definition of GOOD fuel economy?
I think this car rocks in terms of the response pickup sporty feel and still maintains a clear 13+ its been 16 months now.

Looks like the question's been asked.

And just another thing, my Swift returns me 16-17 on the highway with AC 4 people in the car and luggage in the boot.
Not once or twice, every time. I compared it to an Indica which we drove for a trip together. It gave 18 with AC 30% of the time.
The Swift AC was on 90 % of the time.
That rocks doesn't it?
