Nope it has had a new meaning since 1999 - check out Tulleeho.com - Your guide to drinking - cocktail recipes, bar reviews, shop, smart drinking, workshops, now sadly defunct.

Scotch made in Scotland by an Indian!!
Man India is Shining. and all these Big guys are making us Proud.
Scottish people will need to Rethink their respect and regard for we Indians,
like the Brits have been forced to over the last few years!!
Ishan is looking up his inventory!! I have just a few 100

What does this change? Is Scotch going to become more affordable in India? In any case, kudos to King Mallya for this stupendous fishing.

Scotch is going to be more affordable in India very soon since under the WTO agreement India is reducing the 250-500% duties it had imposed on foreign liquor substantially. This step is being taken because both US & EU have filed cases against India for these duties & before it becomes a major issue India wants to resolve it by curtailing the duties.

It gives Mallya access to stocks of Scotch whiskey for his blends, besides of course giving him a portolio of fairly recognized and some really rare brands.

So we can officially get 'Scotch' made in India, blended by UB. Watch out for No.1 McDowells Scotch!

And I'm sure Mr. Mallya will use low-cost (not necessarily LOW QUALITY) Indian whiskey to blend more brands for the international market - cheaper Scotch for sure!

PS: Should we rename this the "Bewda Thread"?
