There were a group of black flag and bamboo trotting muslims shouting slogans and walking by my house in Marredpally. This was when I was leaving for work. But it was very peaceful. These guys did not create any problems, made way for traffic, were polite with the cops. The only thing they did was to make sure all the shops remained shut. But the chaps were pretty decent enough to let all the medical shops in our area stay open.

Banjara hills and begumpet are pretty deserted right now (traffic snarls in some places due to the flyover construction though). Many of the Coffee days are open.

Thanks for checking up. Things have settled down quite nicely. Life has already come back to normalcy. Pretty good effort by the police folks to curb the seriousness of the situation.

We are merely pawns in this game of chess that the politicians are playing. Lack of honesty in politics is the root of all, this breeds frustration and young hot-heads then feel that terrorism is the only way to get themselves heard.

Not so.

All it does is strengthen the very politicians who are lording over us. They get justification for greater control and greater power for themselves.

I grieve for all the victims and for the people of Hyderabad. Fervent hope that people's tempers do not get inflamed.

Long live a free and secular India.

What if today's blast came from outside the country, jealous of the fact that country's economy is growing leaps and bounds, and that too Hyderabad, which itself is a IT hotspot. Or it could be the Maoists, who are as usual upto no good. We can't just tell that it was the normal people trying to kill in the name of caste and religion.
