Default Welcoming New Joinees to Co's : Unique Concept

Take a look at what Aditi Technologies, Bangalore did to its new joinees on Day 1 of their joining. Goes to show the extent software companies will go to in these days of hiring madness.

ooh yes they had elephants and a typical mallu type welcome for the new joinees.
This time around they gave banana's to get elephants for the welcome ceremony.
eeek's honestly I think it was pathetic to run sucha show and rather would prefer having a decent induction.Well thats just me.

I can't believe how desperate some companies can get. I understand the recruiting problem since I too have the same problem constantly. But this circus is ridiculous. Must be a hare-brained idea of some chap in their HR.

HR chaps always have hair brained ideas. Tell them employee morale is low, and rather than improving working conditions they will make everyone wear funny baloons and jump in air singing "I love my company"

Its more of a PR exercise for the company than a real 'welcome' to the new joinees. If new joinees feel comfortable then thats a real welcome.

Had seen that couple of days back. I wouldn't trash the idea really. It's something different.

But I honestly hope that, after all this hoopla, the new hires had a place to sit, their phone/desktops were setup along with e-mail/network ids and someone walked them through company basics (culture, dos and don'ts, business model) along with few pointers on where to get help.

I also do hope that, same employees would be given similar attention even after 1 year down the line.

But then many times, I hope against hope.

your right, this is nothing but, garnering publicity for the company so in reality its not aimed really at welcoming the employee.

Must have come in the local newspaper-can anybody confirm?
