Some of the movies seen recently:

1920: good movie if you are the thriller/horror type..would say nicely done for a hindi horror flick..100 times better than the Ramsay Brother "Ketchup blood" flicks any day.

Rating: 3.5/5

Hijack: badly done, nothin good in the movie apart from that one song with Shiney Ahuja wearing his lite pink blazer which guess made him a star in Gangster..fail to understand why they had Esha Deol in the movie and the plot also does not make sense..

Rating: 1/5

Rock On: Nice movie, something offbeat and diff, amazing songs, Farhan Rocks and so does Arjun Rampal, Luke and Purab. Cant believe Farhan has sung most of the songs in the movie and the dialogues in the movie are also by him..

Rating: 5/5

Saas Bahu aur Sensex

Wanted to watch Sajjanpur but ended up with this. Slow paced, boring and un-involving. All about a mother and daughter who land up in Mumbai after the mother's divorce. How they start their life again and a little bit of sensex and stock markets , a little bit of kitty party gossip - I am hoping you are getting the gist. There is even a love story thrown into the mix.

Verdict - 1/5.
Avoidable.

Default Welcome to Sajanpur

Welcome to Sajanpur - I must admit that i went to watch this movie with some great expectations but was let down a bit.

The movie is about a letter write Mahadev ( Shreyas ) who is a BA but due to lack of good job ends up making a business in letter writing.

He is the main protagnist of the movie who lets you in the life of other villagers like his love interest but much married Amrita Rao, ila arun ( loud ), ravi kishan ( boring ), rajeshwari sachdeva ( eeeks ), divya dutta ( wasted ), yashpal sharma ( good ) some odd subedar and some small and inute characters. One special mention for the actor who plays the eunuch in the film, he is superb but i dont remember his full name though it is some Jhankal. Full marks for wonderful performance.

The movie, typically of Shyam benegal to rake in social issues, is a good concept gone bad because of no story line. I mean they could have completely done away with the songs (not even hummable) and utilised that time to build upon a story of the each character. All the side characters had blink and miss roles though they were important for the story line. The film has touched upon many social issues like the acquisition of farmer's land for development, widow remarraige, and issues of husband working in Mumbai and wife in village, and many more.

final verdict - could have been better but then not bad

Rating 2.5/5

I know its too late to say this but, I dont think Rock On was worthy of 5 Stars.

Yes no doubt it is a good movie. But somehow it feels a bit apart. It was broken into pieces and then some how fix it very quickly with fevicol and the fevicol was the touch of Jhankar Beats. Farhan was very good. So were others. But still. I would think hard or may not even call this as "the next' Dil Chahta Hai. DCH was rockin' After seeing it 'n' of times and having all the dialogues by heart, I still watch when I want. Same thing I cant say about Rock On.

For me Rock on 2.50+0.25(for music only) = 2.75/5. May be stretch it to 3 but nothing over it.

Sajjanpur was boring. Dragged so much. Moreover the language used was such that could not understand lot of dialogs.
Talpade has done a horrendous job

Mongol (2007)

a amazing movie which shows the life of Genghis khan before he became a leader of half the world.

it shows the reason to why he became the brutal leader he was.

a must watch.

only draw back is that the movie is not in english but comes with sub titles.

Cyrus what the crap has happened to your English?

Anyways if you do see the movie, somewhere near the end there is a fight sequence. The background song is Bappi Lahiri's Jimmy Jimmy Aaja Aaja.

It also is mentioned in the credits.

COOOOL!!

Speaking of films the MTV Fully Faltoo film festival began on MTV yesterday. The first movie to be aired was " Bechare Zameen Par" with Cyrus Sahukar in the lead as Pareshan Aswasthy. The songs are hillarious too. Watch out especially for the Maa song.

I saw that Dippy. Cyrus is too good.

Have you all seen the small snippets being aired nowadays on MTV with the role being played by Cyrus ( as a Record Breaker, as a Corporate CEO and even a Ashram Teacher ). He is too good !!
