Goal 3 coming up in 1st quarter of 2008. Hoping it lives up to the reputation the other two movies.

Manorama : Six Feet Under

Very nice movie. Nice story and good actors. Was a little sluggish in between but otherwise pretty interesting and unpredictable.
Rating: ***

I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry - A comedy movie worth watching. No point in spoiling the story line by giving even a brief review here. Good timepass.

My rating: 4/5. Must-watch
Knifing the guy and girl scene was pretty chilling!!!!!

Requiem for a dream (quiet old): all about drugs
4/5 rating for it.

The Fountain : for arts and the time machine lovers.
Hard to understand to movie in the end but it automatically fills up in your head. 4/5 rating.

Rush Hour 3 : Part 1 was the best. nothing much to it.

The Prestige / The Illusionist : Both were awesome good movies. Prestige end was really twisted though. I love these old school movies.

mods: can we post imdb links to the movie?

Loins of Punjab - Caught this yesterday and I did not like it. Same old re-run jokes , didn't even feel like laughing. A couple of scenes are ok and the foul mouthed king of bhangra is fun - thats it. :(

I would give this a miss.

Its on my download list for the last couple of days.

Also seen,

Revolver - Ho-hum

Waist Deep - ho hum

Three - better than the other 2. A couple get stranded on a deserted island with a ship boy after their yatch capsizes and there starts a tale of jealousy and love. Nice TP watch.

Johnny Gaddar

A thriller - inspired from the 70's - borrowing heavily from movies like Parwana, Johnny Mera Naam etc.

The movie works in spite of all it's inspirations - slickly shot and brilliantly lit - the movie is about a get rich deal between 5 people, which goes wrong because 1 of them decides to double cross the team.

Although we know who is the traitor - the movie keeps you on the edge with its thrills and twists.

The new guy Niel Mukesh makes a very impressive debut. The 2nd half tends to be slower than the 1st and a poorly placed item song doesn't help the pace. The background score could have been a tad better.

Verdict - 4/5. Watch it. Its a very well made thriller.

A friend insisted on watching it last friday and 2 of us went kicking and screaming (i.e., didnt want to watch); was quite engaging though very very slow paced. Climax didnt warrant a full length feature film.
