I found the LOINS OF PUNJAB under average. the jokes were stale and I felt I had seen all that in the many crossover movies that had been released.

Saw Mithya last night, though being a lover of "different genre" movies, this movie didnt hit the right chord. I came out of the movie depressed, confused, dark thoughts all over my mind ( including a slight headache). Neither the music, nor the story had any juice, the editing, photography, also were quite low budget type. I could not decipher the story even after it completed.

Ranvir was the saving grace ( his acting in bits was nothing less than brilliant)

Vinay was ok, not exploited to his full. In fact his partner was better than him in this movie

Naseer was just a prop

Saurab was no great shakes as well

In a way, its a below average movie and is worth a miss!

I absolutely agree. I too think that it was a sub-standard good for nothing movie.

Hero 1982
Hero (1983/II)

The movie featured a RD350.
The bike and the factory appear in quite a few frames.
A race sequence features this bike and it beats a Honda.
Bike also comes in the climax and wins the day.
of course there were a lot of humans running around trees, waterfalls and so on to fill in the other frames in the movie.
but that is not important.

Saw Mithya on Saturday, was expecting a lot due to good reviews, however found it a bit disappointing...

The story barely moved in second half, and I constantly thought about 'The Godfather', the maker seems to be confused, if he wanted to make a Gangster movies, then he should have stuck to the plan, however first half gave an impression for a comic thriller..

Jodha Akbar

Caught this much awaited movie at a paid preview yesterday.

The movie is lavishly made and it shows. Love between a Mughal emperor and a Rajput princess is the theme.

The movie is long, about 3.5 hours and it gets tiring at time but the performances from Hrithik and Ash make it up. The support cast does well.

Overall - 2.5/5 - Watch it once.

9th Company - A Russian movie about a company of soldiers in Afghanistan. Very good!
Gone Baby Gone - A thriller. Nice cast (Morgan Freeman, Casey Affleck, Ed Harris). Pretty good movie.
He Was A Quiet Man - Not bad. (Christian Slater, Elisha Cuthbert).

Lars and the Real Girl
Lars and the Real Girl (2007)

Nice story, bad editing.
The movie drags on and on but I like the story.
Lonely guy buys himself a doll. A very supportive family treats the doll like its his girl.
The ending was sweet and I think he was conning them all from the start.

Quills
Quills (2000)

Brilliant Movie. Its about the Marquis de Sade. His years in prison.
Excellent acting, a gripping movie. Rate it very high.

Watched "Sunday" last Sunday!!

Decent movie with some excellent comedy from Arshad Warsi & Irfan Khan! Those two really had all of us in splits with their antics. Ajay Devgan & Ayesha Takia are strictly ok & so is the storyline.

Most of the film is shot at the India Habitat Centre & Pragati Maidan so you can see that it seems to be a low-budget film.

Overall, I would suggest a once watch for the comedy bits from the deadly duo.

Rating: 2.5/5
