| I have a query regarding BSNL Broadband Unlimited Plan. I currently have 512kbps plan at my place. However I am finding the download limit to be less. So I am thinking about shifting to another plan, most preferably the Home UL900 plan. I am aware of that speed is only 256kbps and NOT Upton 2Mbps. However I am ready for that. Now the real question is, I have heard some mixed things about UL plan. Some people have told me that in UL plan the pulses are also counted along with monthly rental. Along with UL plan that is recipe for disaster. Can any UL plan users confirm or deny it ? |

| I did not get the pulses part, are you referring to the data dowloaded or is it about the telephone call pulse. If it is data downloaded you are referring to it is not included in your bill. There are two UL900 broadband plans[taking from their website]: For Home Plan UL 900 Plus: Telephone fixed monthly charges per month- Nil, Free Calls- Nil, MCU charges per Pulse @ Rs. 1/- shall be applicable. The calls shall be charged as per pulse rate of BSNl Bfone General Plan. Security Deposit and Installation charges as applicable for Local/STD/ISD shall be taken from new customers. For Home Plan UL 900: Telephone Rental per month, Free Calls & MCU charges per pulse shall be as per existing plan of the customer. source: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. |

| I have an unlimited plan of BSNL, although from my builder, who is a BSNL franchise. I pay just 500/- pm (flat) for internet access. Phone calls are billed separately. Speed usually is about 200kbps but it gets better at low traffic hours, sometimes even more than 300kbps (just for few minutes though).I feel the BSNL unlimited plans are good if you download heavily BUT have no critical dependency on speed.

| I use BSNL UL 900+ plan for the last 2 years. Phone calls are charges at Re1 per pulse and there are no free calls. I get consistent speeds of about 32 kBps (256 kbps) which is the max limit for the scheme. The scheme is more useful if you use it for SOHO purpose as it may involve lot of data transfer during day time. Regarding speeds, yes its much slower than other schemes, but then you dont have to worry about running over your monthly limits. Also you dont have to keep awake until 2 am for large downloads or pray that the scheduled downloads will happen as planned.

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | adya, in unlimited plan all you pay is 900 + modem charge + taxes for internet usage. Your phone bills will be charged accordingly to how much you talk, nothing to do with usage. I know people who run 30-40GB downloads a month. when I was on 1800rs 5GB 512kbps plan I used the night download facility and would total 20-30GB a month too, no extra charge of course.

| tsk and others thank you for the information. I will fullfill the plan change formalities today itself. If monthly rent is nil and all might as well get a new telephone line specifically for internet itself. |

| Rs 900 towards Dataone usage and telephone call charges @Re1 per pulse. Only taxes are applicable extra. Modem charges will be there only if you have rented it. I have gone for outright purchase. So no rentals. Regarding usage in my case, I am connected to the net 24X7 using my PC and will frequently connect with my laptop using Wifi while at home. MCU stands for Metered Call Unit. It is the unit on which billing is done.

| Senior - BHPian | Tsk, how much does the charge come up to in the UL 900 plan? I mean how much is the modem charge + taxes? So I do not pay for telephone charges while I am connected to the internet right?

I hope you know that you can use the Internet (ADSL) and make voice calls on your existing BSNL phone line simultaneously.
