1. The current lancer is being replaced in 2008 for a new lancer 1.5 that will fight it out with the new upcoming Honda city.

2. HM-Mitsubishi collabration is breaking up. Also my dealer confirmed this today. Now Mitsubishi will be offficially running in India.
First of all, Congratulations Devarshi, Everyone doubted you and thought that this is just another silly thread but you proved everyone wrong.

HM and Mitsubishi breaking up? Thats GREAT news. So the 10th gen Lancer is going to replace the current Lancer or is it going to replace the Cedia?

Great news devarshi. But can you tell us what is the source for the HM-Mitsu breaking up & the new (same 1.5) lancer launch in 2008. Is it the spokesperson of mitsu or your dealer ?

Woooohoooooo. Yippeeeeee.

That's amazing news. Comeon Mitsubishi, give Honda a run for their money.

My money's down for the 10th gen Lancer.

Good perseverence, devarshi! If indeed Mitsubishi does launch a new meaningful Lancer like they've told you, we'll launch another petition that you be gifted one for free

Yes, thats due to the Japanese govt urging Mitsubishi to seriously relook at India moving forward, especially with Japanese aid/involvement in new infrastructure projects in India that'll give them first-mover advantage of setting up factories in vicinity of new railway tracks.

must admit with all the people saying its not gonna work, it is very difficult to maintain optimism, but finally the team bhp effort paid off!!

devarshi - thanks to you for doing it all and also all of us tbhpians who supported this effort and voted hoping for positive

If they pull it off successfully, Mitsubishi will be on the top of my list for my next car i buy!!

Guys, I am getting delivery of the cedia sports red tomorrow.

Why am I getting an uneasy feeling about this news of the new lancer next year!

And I hope they again listen to it.

Mitus-HM breakup is from the dealer. he also said they have ordered for new boards and hoardings minus the HM logo. Its also partially in the news. Check google out.

The news about new lancer 1.5 has been in the news before also, but it was much ahead in time. probably a leak. I also posted it here then. Now the spokesperson confirmed it. What I am surprised is that Mitsubishi doesnt have any smaller sedans.

But then Mitsubishi has launced the Lancer ex at the same time in multiple asian countries. Make up the rest.

.
Is the "new" 1.5 lancer the Cedia, or the 10th generation one?

One dealer says 7 years the same Lancer will continue (I say- HM only 7 more years?)

And another dealer say Evo X in 2008? (Why not the Evo XI which might be out by then?)

Anyone has any news URLs, which atleast hints towards one of these possibilities?
