Another Onam Season - Team-BHP

Well, it starts today. The Festive season in Kerala. Looks like many are heading home for get-together. Since it isn't raining, driving our potholed roads wont be that much of a problem.

Try to keep local number of fellow TBHPians handy in case you guys feel to have a meet.

Happy Onam Guys.

Those in and around Cochin...there's a party at Cochin tomorrow and hence a TBHP Meet. Contact nikkibike for details.

p.s. Please use this thread if anyone of you want a small local TBHP meet.

Hi JKD i am driving down to TVM on 23rd Aug 07 , will be there till 27th Aug 07. Can we try set up something in the meanwhile ?

planet_rocker vishu is mallu new year. Onam is the harvest festival in Kerala.

Had planned to be in Kerala during Onam, but have to travel on work.

I am sure BEVCO is going to do phenomenal business during this season.

Some hotels (atleast here in Chennai) have a Onam special where you could get a Onam sadya. Should be there in Aamchi Mumbai also, I would guess.

Pongal for TN, mid Jan or so.

The record for last year from a single shop was 15lac in a day. For non-mallus, the shop just sells liquor and is quite small with max 750sq Ft area. This was for last Xmas.

There is an Onam 'special' at Goa Portuguesa over here. But the food was nowhere close to the sadya. There might be something in Bandra.
