Why don't you try at something like 'building a quad bike' or a 'drag race spec bike'.

During my final year diploma project we built a 'quad bike' which is an altogether brilliant experience of mixing, matching and sometimes even fabricating parts.

My other class mates made a drag race spec bike.

Can engine modification to yield more power be considered as a project ?

(College professors are always more keen on something less polluting, more efficient & stuff. My sir always says Project has to be a new invention but since our brains aren't of that level, reworking a current system to work more efficiently, costless, etc is a good idea.)

For eg -
1) A K&N filter for karizma,activa,dio,etc costs rs - 1750
2) Different number of jets to experiment with cost rs - 300

So that is a total of around rs - 2000.

What if i use less than 2000 rs to yield double the power of a K&N + jetted bike ?
Compare the two bikes at the end & show how can one play around with the engine even with limited funds ?

Would it be a good project ?

Yes. As long as your able to achieve something substantial, it will be considered.

Are you planning to modify the engine or just air intake?.

However, even .5 bhp gain, or even a more free revving engine, or a low/top end grunt under 2k sounds lucrative.

Do update us here!
