Its ridiculous..The bloody moron confessed 5 such rape and murders and how the hell no one knew about that until now and what about the fate of others?? People desperately need to raise their voice against this..whatever it takes. In a country where people stage dharnas, rallys, hartals..and what not for all the right and wrong reasons, BPO employees surely need to make their voices heard. Companies make huge profits out of these employees and why should people suffer insecurity and finally become the scape goats..
As suggested, the best option would be to have a central control over the fleet service. But whatever measures are in place, women need to be very very much alert.
These barbarians need to be chopped off their b@!!$ first and then stoned to death.

May her soul rest in peace.

As someone said, having a security guard is useless since he (assuming its a man) can also turn out to be a culprit.
Background checks may help - but many of these perpetrators would be getting caught for the first time. These are crimes of oppourtunity.

One possible solution would be to hire more female cab drivers and assign them to routes that ferry female employees.

What the heck?? And whatever happened to the other four victims? How come that we never reported and if they were then how come the police was unable to nab the cab driver on the first occasion itself?

Sad to see what has become of our country.

I've heard that in some Gulf countries they castrate the rapists & let them lose, so they realise & repent their crime for what ever life is left for them.

Maybe its time that we act like primitives for issues like this.
Personally I don't think that harsh punishment is being primitive - if it is dispensed after a thorough, independent and fair judicial process.

I have lived in the Gulf and do agree that the punishments there are effective. They do not eradicate crime 100%, but deter most people from casual/oppourtunistic crime. A lot of SE Asian countries have also started harsh physical punishments that are publicly broadcast. This acts as an effective deterrent.

When I read the papers, I find it alarming that there are more and more reports or rapes and molestations, so much so that it has almost become a casual instance. For instance during the T20 Team victory parade in Mumbai, there were numerous reports that young college girls in the crowd were pulled aside and molested. Todays TOI has a report of a lady being dragged out of a tourist bus in full view of 50 other people, by 2 guys who were traveling in the bus.

Unfortunately a large portion of the country still lives under barbaric conditions where such abuses are perpetrated by those in power. What we need is for a concerted campaign by the authorities and media to show people what happens to rapists and murders when they are caught and punished. People need to be made fearful of the consequences.

Did U watch Quentin Tarantino's latest movie or what?
A guy in the movie chops of the " jewels" of his employees who fail mission.
And he collects the jewels in a jar.
