The nut ( I meant the guy who did it) is in hospital with injuries. If he can't remove one nut, why resort to a gun, that to a shortgun !!!

surely he should be nominated for the Darwin awards.

The Darwin Awards

So what would the membership have done with that final nut?

I guess he'd have already tried jumping on the wrench, and it resisted that.

My next idea would be to apply heat, to expand the nut and break the seal.

But... err... not with a shotgun. Or a blowtorch.

Default Tips for the obstinate nuts.

First, you should not remove one nut at a time. First, loosen ALL nuts, and then remove them. Removing one, and then loosening the others, means there is a lot more stress on the last one to be removed, and it can get obstinate. A light tap with a hammer on the obstinate one ought to have helped.

Ditto for tightening them - first put them all in, and tighten them one by one, in two or three rounds.

If the nuts are in a rectangle / square, work on diagonally opposite ones - on a car tyre, for example, loosen top left one (as you face the tyre), next loosen the bottom right one, next top right and then the bottom left one. Once all four are loose, then remove them one by one.

Well..its evident that he didn't have a brain.
Make that a brain replacement..to remove the pea sized brain & put in a regular size human brain.

Seriously..it beats me. Wonder how these people come up with such ideas.
