In how many days/weeks did you close your Used Car deal?

I am going to get a used Santro soon. So just wondering how soon the used car buyers would close the deal in practical terms considering they follow all the PDI mentioned in http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/buying...car-india.html (ARTICLE: How to buy a *USED* Car in India)

Lets write it into the following format.

Stage 1 - Thought of Purchasing Car and What Car = xx days
Stage 2 - Looking for car of your choice in market = xx days
Stage 3 - Negotiating with Seller = xx days
Stage 4 - Final Stage of Payment and other formalities = xx days

Total : xx days Simple.

In my case Stage 1 => 4 days and other stages are yet to come

Stage 1 - Thought of Purchasing Car and What Car = 1-2 months.

Stage 2 - Looking for car of your choice in market = 1-2 months or more.

Stage 3 - Negotiating with Seller = 1 days

Stage 4 - Final Stage of Payment and other formalities = 1-15 days

Nice thread; the only used car I have bought is my Vtec. Since it was discontinued from production.

Stage 1 - Thought of Purchasing Car and What Car = 1 drive in the Vtec.

Stage 2 - Looking for car of your choice in market = 90 days (TD'ed a lot of Vtecs. If I remember correct, it was over 20 - 25 cars.)

Stage 3 - Negotiating with Seller = 1.5 hours of hard bargaining.

Stage 4 - Final Stage of Payment and other formalities = 3 days.

Stage 2 - Looking for car of your choice in market = 4 months - Have seen 14 cars and finally got mine which was 15th

Stage 4 - Final Stage of Payment and other formalities = 2 days

Stage 2 - Looking for car of your choice in market = 4 months (tried out 9 VTECs and 28 of the 1.5 or 1.3 during this period)

Stage 4 - Final Stage of Payment and other formalities = 3 days

since you talk of closing a deal, I assume I can write from a seller's POV as well.

took me 45 days to sell my baleno from the date of first posting an ad on TBHP-out of this, I was out of the country for 15 days- so TBHP got my car sold in 30 days !
