Hi All,

Was wondering if we have people here in Bangalore who are into Texas Holdem.
I know that there are active players in Mumbai, infact one of them had a 3rd place finish in APC held earlier this year in Goa. The tourney had 1 million USD prize money.
I would love to know if we have a commnity of players here in Bangy.

good to see a fellow Bangalorean hold 'em/poker fan on this site...sorry for my late reply, it's been forever since I've been back on TBHP!

I luv the game of texas hold'em and some other variants as well, such as omaha, seven card stud, and razz. I learnt about these games and played them first when in college in the States.

I've missed it since coming back to Bangy a couple of years back, but managed to get back into action thru the online channel. I used to play only for "play" money on FullTiltPoker.com, although now I've decided to try my luck and play for real on the same site, but for small stakes though!

I only learnt about the APC recently but also stumbled upon news of a new INDIA POKER TOUR (google it) which includes Bangalore as one of its stops! Me and a colleague (who's also a fan) are trying to get onto the IPT team but no response from them yet as they are still deciding on logistics, I guess.

What about you? Any poker action recently?

I play but not frequently.

A friend is very much into it. He has a proper Poker set and when we have night outs, we usually play Poker. We are all poor people though and dont play with REAL money

Am having very little experience (Star city in Sydney & a little bit in Kathmandu) apart from playing on my comp.

Would like to play if possible in Bangalore

Nikhil, can u perhaps arrange a poker nite with ur friend and invite us over? I'm lacking the proper infrastructure to do so (watchful eyes, no chips, etc.).

Heh. Sorry man. That friend got placed in a company and left Bangalore a few days back :(

Although all you need is a deck of cards and money. Those chips are used as a substitution for money. Instead of using those chips, you can just use real money.

hehe, looks like ur online too! i know that, man, but it's a lot easier and more fun playing with chips...otherwise u have to get stacks of 1/2/5 rupee coins and 10/50/100 notes. i dont envision us playing with higher denominations! (at least for now )

for those who want to learn (short of playing for fun or throwing real money for experience), I'd recommend downloading and running any of the online poker clients if u have a decent broadband connection at home.

google search for them...some good ones are full tilt poker, titan poker, party poker, etc. i personally play on full tilt.
