Default smell

i was at the reclamation yesterday .... i touched the accent to 140 km/hr

after slowing down i put the windows down and got this awful smelll .. guyz it was smellin like rotten fish or dead rat......ughhh.. dun know where the smell came from ... is it the clucth.... cause smoking tyres dun smell this bad.....

Yeah it must have been the clutch, your shift time was probably high when u were shifting from 3rd into 4th into 5th probably, and the extended contact alongwith your continuous accelleration caused the clutch to wear out a bit and give that foul smell.

ya it was litle longer cause i had car ahead of me... cudnt do much to avoid that

Accents are know for smelling of burnt clutch after a hard drive.

But rotten fish? Dead rat? That's wierd.

Is it comming from the exhaust? Or from some other place.

Yup, Shan2nu, yday i could smell some wierd smell coming outta our Accent after i had tried moving it in 5th gear(which i did successfully....... )

How bad is that?? Is it gonna ruin the cars clutch for good??

I dunno how bad it is, but all i know is, it ain't good!! I mean why should the clutch start scraping if you've pressed the clutch pedal completely.

When the clutch is dis-engaged, there should be no contact and so no wear n tear.

noo shan wasnt frmthe exhaust ... i stopped the car got out smelt the car like a sniffer dog everywhere found no smelll even from the engine bay.... but when i sat in the car i could smell .it.. did go away later though... what is it the technical reason behind it happenin.... any solutions fer it guyz

hmm exhaust gas pulled inside the cabin with the vaccum/turbulence created at the tail, the cars r not air tight right?
