Feeling sorry for your car Steer. Hope you'll be able to find another good engine block for her.

Steer,
that is a real bummer that the block cracked. is there an option to just replace the block with another? coz complete engine will be like drilling for oil in your pocket.
lemme know if sourcing from US is an option?

Got a choice of 6 engines and am picking up one tomorrow for 10 grand. I've become very philosophical about this - something bad was about to happen and I'm glad its only this.

I get a one week replacement/refund timeframe to fit the engine and try it out. Good enough. Put the new engine in and if it runs fine, sell the car and get another one.

Good news Steer

Time to reward your self with another nice set of wheels.

One question Steer, does Dubai law permits the change of engines legally? The engine number would be different right?

All the best Steeriod

As the saying goes, whatever happens, happens for good (in line with your philosophical thinking ), this might has happened so you can enjoy a new car .

Either ways, you seem to have decided upon selling off the car, Steer?

sad to hear about your car and even worse was the news about you colleugue.

what I dont understand is that your engine block cracked with ankle deep water? that kind of seems very odd and a weird happening. seems like it just one of those things that just happens out of the blue.

i remember parking my 1.8Corolla in ankle deep water. it was just touching the door frame. nothing happened to it. This was in 2004 when such weird rain falls were starting in UAE.

i guess the chilling water did you in mate.

hope the new block is a good one!
