Hey guys ..

have any one noticed that there are no traffic signals, no pedestrians , no two wheelers cutting across in the ad and all the traffic is staged and probably going at 20kmph or something .
Any way its just an ad , just to promote a product.
If any one wants to imitate that then go ahead and do it ......
But first .... become a brand ambas for a big Product , where they will pay you to drive like the "Call Center Taxi Buggers " in Bangalore and you have no one to harm not even your self (cause a stuntman would do it for u any way).Just relax and sit at the back seat....
Apart frm the jokes ... i feal even if you wanna drive like that the traffic doesn't allow u to do so.
And as Anush said No one will get influenced by an ad after seeing movies like Fast and the Furious , Gone in 60 secs and all.
As far as Narain driving is concerned "He's Good".
AND REMEMBER :
It is impossible to travel faster than the speed of light, and certainly not desirable, as one's hat keeps blowing off.
AND
Be wise with speed; a fool at forty is a fool indeed.

Not to mention at that speed my mass would be approaching infinity... i think something like that if i remember my physics right isnt it.

And that would pose a little bit of a weight problem.

Your right dude. That concept posed big problems, when I had a chapter concerning LIGHT in my 12th.

hahaha,
then i cannot agree with ur views.i still cannot understand as to how do u find something thats done in an ad as irresponsible.ads are just for promoting the item to be sold.dont tell me that u feel like doing watever is shown on TV.

then wat do u think abt the elantra ad,the land cruiser, the jeep grand....

It's a 50/50 thing. In a way i guess it's harmless, but in a way it is.

Let the people decide how they wanna take it.

So it would be better to say that it's a stupid concept (for promoting a petroleum product). Harmless, but stupid. That should settle it.

Well, initially, if i was the first person to have replied to this thread, i would have said, yes it is irresponsible of Narain to have chosen to do this ad (even though i havent seen it).

However, reading the discussions and giving it further thought i do see how it is actually more a fault of the creative people who conceptualized the ad. A certain responsibility and concern for the influence your "product" has on the public is sadly only a quality the best have instilled in them.
Also, i think this has become an "issue" with some people here as Narian is sort of looked up to and respected as a driver and an Indian by some people. So its a combination of the ad and him that is making this a bit volatile.

To conclude, i remember reading an interview in which (i think it was him) who said that when he drives off the track he prefers to chill and has no urge to ever race.

I agree to that...
You just cant blame Narain..
Its just that he could have asked them to include some message in the begining which warns people from not trying to do them.. Being a race driver himself, he could have applied the safety rules(seat belts).. But then they probably wanted to let the viewers know that u'l have one wild ride(Guess thats why no seat belts)..
About zipping through traffic, well no matter how hard you try you cant do it with this traffic.. So even the few who try to mimic will be unsuccessfull...

Just one of the many sad ads we'v seen, thats all!!
