Nope, he meant to say that the guy can sit comfortably, for no more than 5 hours in the Sonata.

spot on, there!

interesting exercise that 'junking' other cars is, it would only be proper to keep a stark fact at the back of one's head...

the india-spec lancer is junk. even foreign versions were never rated highly in developed markets in terms of crash-test safety or otherwise. (i presume it's safe to rubbish a particular car here, this being the very intent of this thread). not only the lancer but perhaps every other of the 35+ models that do duty in great numbers on our roads, is sub-quality in true-blue car country.

i might buy a 20L camry tomorrow, but that's what a bank clerk in the US calls an economy sedan.

but let's go on, guys... this wasn't meant to be a speedbreaker at all!

Perhaps the problem is with the reference - after the Safari everything else seems to feel uncomfortable. I could drive down from Coimbatore to Bangalore through the lousy route up the Ooty ghat and the challenging Masinagudi ghats, land up in Bangalore an 10 and stay on my feet with the guys till about 2 am in the morning immediately after the drive.

PS: I'm NOT talking about the landcruisers or pajeros here.

The Indigo. I have not driven an Indica. The rubbery feel of the gear box was what put me off.

Post worst driven cars till date....

  1. Chevrolet Metro - even an Indica moves compared to this thing!
  2. Tata Indica Diesel (First Generation) - utter piece of rattling crappiness - everything rattles along-with the engine.
  3. Toyota Corolla CE Limited Edition (1995 model automatic) - all i can say is i'm GLAD it was a limited edition!
  4. Dodge Neon - american made rice-car especially for south-of-the-border immigrants. ugghness with a facelift!
  5. Honda City (NHC w/77hp) - couldn't bring myself to floor the accelerator or be too harsh on the brakes during a test-drive - cousin classified me as a sore-loser when it comes to test driving cars (but i was feeling soo sorry for the poor little thing.... that i let it go....).
  6. Lexus ES300 (models ranging from 1992-1998) - have driven a couple of models in the specified year range. didn't like any.

I wouldnt say indica or indigo or for that matter any tata car worst cos they are meant for the common man and epriced just right ..
I feel they are VFM in their respective segments ..

To me a worst car/suv is Ford Endeavour .. Its by far the worst car i 've ever driven .. Pathetic ride, too noisy ,damn slow pick up ,horrible interiors and the list could go on and on ,i feel a tata truck a better option and could give Ford a run fori money ..
I wont buy it even at half the cost ..

Worst I had driven was Mahindra Invader..
1] The steering was too vague
2] the worst gear change ever,
3] felt I was driving some home-made project kit car
4] after flooring the gas pedal, I used to wait for it to wake up and pick up speed ..as if it had a turbo lag ..
...not even worth considering as a weekend getaway 3rd car if you had a choice...
