Wish the biker had taken a clear picture of HIS speedo to give a indication of the Nano's top whack. Looked at least 80+. Cant say for sure.

its a pretty slow car - the bike was barely doing any speeds. nowhere near dangerous jothi saab - bigger issue is of him keeping control

Great spy footage, the car comes across as a reglar hatch with a zippy drive- perfect for crowded metro roads.

Only 50,000 Nanos to be manufactured in 2008-09

News is out that only 50,000 of them will be manufactured between September 2008 and March 2009. So how long is the waiting time going to be for your next Tata Nano? Possibly a year or more if you don't book one soon enough!!

Looks like 70s waiting period for Bajaj Chetak scooter will be repeated. In those days it took anytime between 4 to 5 years to be delivered a Bajaj scooter. That probably is an all time high record anywhere in the world for any vehicle. Looks like some people may have to wait for over a year to lay their hands on Nano, if the production is as low as 50,000.

I'm really looking forward to the ripples the Nano is going to create in the market, despite all the shortcomings people everywhere are trying hard to find in the car theres no denying its terrific value.

On the road it just looked like any other small car doing decent city speeds. Considering the momentum one can achieve in city traffic the car seems to be more than capable. One can keep on nitpicking what the car doesn't have, but it does have enough to keep a majority of Indians happy at a price they can think about. God bless Ratan Tata for that.

Im pretty sure this car is going to sell (duh), and 50,000 of them annually is not going to satisfy India.

Maybe this is just to shut the critics up..the whole concept of the one lakh car that is..they made it look cool and desirable...even Merc owners would want one which is not the same case with the 800 or the alto...1 lakh rupees was the marketing slogan to promote the car..and did u ever notice..ratan tata drove in the premium model of the nano and not the basic one...no wonder the basic version is going to account to only 20% of the sales..if u walk into a tata showroom tomorrow, don't be surprised if the salesman there says they are out of stock of the basic version...even with comforts like A.C and stuff, this car is going to cost lesser than the 800 and going to pull alto(India's most selling car) buyers too...that was the reason(hidden) they made this car in the first place..I believe that way...
