Default What do you think happens inside the Indian Prison?

If you thought that only Gundas and Rowdies be inside the Prison to increase their "contacts", then please read on.

1230 prisoners are studying graduation & post-graduation last year in Tamilnadu prison,
Newspapers and magazines are provided for them to read,
Several prisons have library with books on philosophy, litrature etc.
Prisoners are also allowed to lend the books from Distric libraries,
They do have indoor and outdoor games,
School for Adult education is also present,
Some universities are conducting many certificate and diploma courses inside the prison,
They also have vocational courses to improve their skills in developmental activities,
Yogas and meditation also conducted periodically,

Usually there are perception (or reality ) that medias project the darker side of the city or any place more than the productive side. After seeing all negative aspects in the news headlines, it good to see such news. Ofcourse, lets wish that no prisoners should be in for this and if anyone made in for whatever reason, will come out as a respectable citizen.

Thats very good news.

Convicts without rehabilitation, when they are released, will have no other option but to go back to their "trade".

PS: Cant help thinking about The Shawshank Redemption!!
