How come no one mentioned todays game between Spurs and Lakers.
At one point Laker were trailing by 16-17 point and then rallied to win the close match 89-85,so typical of LA lakers. And this was not the 1st time they have done it.

Yea "WhiteKnight" the defending champs Spurs were sent packing by the Lakers and should see who will win the East. Most probably Celtics with 3-2 lead over Detroit. But one can never under rate the Pistons.

good display yet again by LA Lakers.

Spurs had a lead of about 17points in 2nd quarter and as usual LA Lakers were able to erase the deficit as they have done many times in the past inclu few days earlier against same team.

And good to know that Lakers are no longer dependent on one or two players but Kobe is still the best players though.

Thumbs up Celtics outclass Pistons to reach NBA Finals and its Celtics in finals after 21 years

Yes ! Boston is in finals of the NBA after defeating the Pistons in the 6th game to make it 4-2 and advance to the finals after 21 years. Their last NBA Finals appearance was in 1987 where they lost to Laskers 4-2.
This year Lakers will have to fight it out to win the ring and with KG,Allen,Pierce and Rondo coming into their own Kobe, Odom, Gasol have to be incredibly superb to send the Celtics packing which i think will be a closely contested series.
Finals start on June5 @ Garden with the Celtics naturally taking home court advantage as they top the league.

Post NBA Finals Celtics Vs Lakers -->Game 1 on 060608

The Celtics will take on the Lakers @ the Garden in Boston in the first game of the 2008 NBA finals. These two powerhouses are evenly matched and the series is going to be nothing less than exciting.

Game1: ESPN (IST) 6:30 AM on the Friday 060608 . Dont miss the action of these games.

Having homecourt advantage Celtics will look for a 1-0 up in the series.

Post Game 1 of the NBA FINALS Celtics defeat Lakers by 98 - 88

Game 1 of the series @ the Garden in Boston lived up to the reputation of having the Finals flavor with Celtics @ home defeating the Lakers by 98-88. Though Lakers played a good and competitive 1st and 2nd quarter the Celtics made the 3rd and 4th quarter count and finally packed the LA Lakers by 98-88

KG,Pierce and Ray Allen scored double digits for the Celtics and made sure they take home court advantage and go up 1 in the series. Kobe managed only 24 points a game high for the Lakers with KG of Celtics too scoring the same number of points. Lamar Odom and Paul Gasol too scored double digits but their effort was not enough to stop the Celtics.

Watched the match. Looks like Celtics strategy paid off. They played a slow game till the end of third quarter and then pulled away. Didn't give enough time to Lakers to catch up, unlike with the Spurs game.

Lakers double-team seem to be backfiring, as Celtic is not a single-superstar team.

Agreed WhiteKnight ! And i think Kevin Garnet, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen together may pull it off against Kobe and Lakers. Well ! Kobe is a great talent but he is very self centered, in fact now i suppose he is slightly better compared to his earlier playing days. With Gasol and Odom relegated to boost up his ego centric play, Lakers will find it hard unless they play as a team .

Default Defense still alive in the NBA

Celtics are a good defensive club. Garnet can be a great defensive player when he wants to be. The Western Conference Lakers do not see much of this kind of basketball. They will have their hands full.
