Thank you Varun for your link. I went through it and plan to finalise on the COX if nothing else comes up. Is it that difficult to design a good looking crash guard for the Scorp??

yes, it remained idle for about 10 days under a tree (i was out of town). because it rained heavily in mumbai for 2 days, the tree showered its blessings on my scorp.

Getsurya - you touched 160 in the scorpio and lived to tell the tale, this might inspire unfortunate others who might not be so lucky - especially if they try clicking snaps at that speed. Pls avoid this.

Hi ACM,

Yes the speed responsibility is mine, however I had my wife to click the pictures for me. Still I would not repeat the same!!

Thanks for the concern

hmm i dont think there is any reason to panic as most scorpio owners here are a sensible bunch
i dont think it is too dangerous doing 160 in a scorpio specially given the margin for speedo errors.
i used to do my mumbai bangalore runs at 140 steady as long as the road allowed. why 140 well because thats the recommended max cruising speed in the 2.6 crde manual. but let me reassure you that even with full load and the air con running in the summer there were times i would ease back on the throttle as it would end up touching 145/50 without flooring it. this was primarily due to the varying gradient on the road.
so given our fantastic golden quadrilateral and other 4 and 6 lane roads coming along i dont think it will be dangerous to cruise at 160 where one can see for miles ahead.
however one must be aware of factors such as tyre pressure, steering wobble, transmission overheat.
however, if you want to keep your engine sounding smooth as ever don't exceed 120. it will improve your clutch life too =)
i have not exceeded 120 over the last two years and i think the engine sound has improved or atleast maintained its smoothness.

Is that the modified exhaust that I see sticking out on the right side?

Wow! A snorkelled 2.6 CRDe 4x4 with mean-looking tyres. And a Warn winch up front? The front bumper seems to have been removed.

But I wonder what the water did to the electronics under the bonnet.

thanks a lot mate for the pics, they are fabulous.

this will make sure that those who keep cribbing that a scorpio is a MUV & not SUV will keep silent for some time atleast!

lol, Raj , I think you are right. Quite nothing like a picture which in this case is worth a million words and making the point very unsubtly. We should bookmark this page and simply send people here, the next time such claims erupt.

Khan,

Thanks for sharing the pictures and the link.

It is amazing to see the scorp going through all that grind and somebody actually is grinding the mean machine to the core. The ones in the water body are awesome! Cant beat that!

Also, the exhaust modification(i bet that is a plug in as required) is probably all Indian cars require in cities like Mumbai, Hyd etc where in rainy season, can be of great advantage

Overall, superb pictures.
