Thats what I thought would happen with the stuck on vinly thing and went for paint myself...

@Raj: Reconsider your vinyl idea.

If it was just the pics, I would think he does some black magic with his camera while shooting his Scorpio. But I have seen his Scorpio in the flesh/metal and man it looks cool.
So I wasn't wrong in my inspiration being mansidea's Scorp

Right, then, in deference to the opinion expressed by condor, we shall call a moratorium on posting pics of places visited in our cars.

Boss, Too much. thanks. The trick in photo is to hide its ugliest rear.

Well, hiding the ugly behind is just one part of the job. As I see it, what makes your Scorpio stand out is the body color, the contrast of the window sun-film with body color, the nice wheels and last but not the least the effort you take to keep it looking so clean always.

And in the snaps, what helps is the extra effort you take to snap the Scorpio in nice locations and to have the SUV posing amidst awesome greenery, whose beauty rubs onto the Scorpio also.

Saw this thread rather late. Here are a couple of pics of my April 2006, 4WD Scorp, that I've nicknamed Desert Fox.

What a beautiful backside!! Oh... that doesn't sound quite right!
I mean the Scorpio!!

Is that tacho made for the Scorpio? Seems to redline just a wee bit over 4K. My Scorpio tacho has no redline!!

the peeling off does not happen in all cars mate. as i said, many manufacturers provide vinyls and not paint. also, i want a matt black finish to the pillars, hence opting for the vinyl.

LOL, the tacho in his avatar! Seems to redline at 4200 rpm. Surely not for a petrol engine!

After you get it done, do post and keep us informed(where you did it etc.)...I may put the vinyl over the paint which I have already done. Incidentally, was chatting with some accessories chaps at Lokhandwala yesterday and they also adviced me against the vinyl saying it peels, though I saw a vinyl job done on a car (can't remember which!) and it looked great (honestly better/cleaner than my paint thing).

Con of a 4WD?

mansidea, I cannot think of even one! There might be some differences in the ride quality because of the different suspension setup, but it really is not of much concern to those who opt for the 4X4 variant.
Can you think of some negatives?

maybe the extra weight translates into negligible loss in FE...
or the extra initial cost...
none of the cons are worthy to be mentioned!
