Default Are Indians that crazy for car racing

Trend for searches on Google for "Car Racing"

Here comes the interesting stats:

Google Trends: car racing

Check out the regions.

Now that seemed interesting so I went ahead and tried "Drag Racing"

The order in which the countries featured were:

1) Austraila
2) New Zealand
3) South Africa
4) Philipines
5) USA

Next I tried "Go Karting"
1. United Kingdom
2. Ireland
3. New Zealand
4. Australia
5. South Africa
6. Canada
7. India
8. United States
9. Turkey
10. France

So are we that nuts about "Cars"???

Buddy , majority of the Indians drive their cars as if they were go karts and it sure as hell looks to be reflecting in the google searches.

Keshav India should be top in the list considering the fact that we have street racing happening on a daily basis in town with all the indicabs and sumo's.

all i can say is put any of these international race drivers against our call center drivers or auto drivers in bangalore traffic as the track. Who will win ? :-)

That's because people here are mostly out there racing/tuning/driving like Indicab drivers, and have no time to Google.

There are exceptions, of course...

Psycho,

I dont think that "car racing" would be a very popular search in India (especially given the small %age of people who actually own cars) - however, i'm sure that "buying a car" or "car reviews" would hold a lot more weight since it is a much thought over purchase for those who are fortunate to have the opportunity.

From the moment the engine is fired of more than 90% of the vehicles that includes 2/3/4/6/6+ wheelers, they are upto racing. These things happen on daily basis. Google search results just strengthen the fact. No wonder, driving on our roads is getting more and more difficult day by day.
