Wish you a very happy birthday Thad E Ginathom.

I have a small confusion here. Having not interacted with Thad-saahab much, I don't know why some people have referred to him (I assume Thad's a him) as Nick!?!

Thad E Ginathom sounds like a perfect name, what with the abbreviated middle name. So..uh, who's Nick?

Whoa! So many warm wishes, and I'm only allowed two smillies in response!

Thank you all, so much, Even though I'm still a newcomer to this forum, there is so much warmth and friendliness here, and it is really appreciated

The belated reply (apologies) is due to the fact that I was enjoying an internet-free week in Kerala. And, believe, it or not, this old internet addict actually did enjoy being away from the screen. More reading, more nature watching and hey! I even had conversations with my wife!!!!

Anyway, we have begun the process of finding our next home there.

Waterside village life for Mrs G and Me! Selling the Swift, buying a boat!

OK... keeping the Swift, but certainly buying a boat. Yes, it is possible, as my wife speaks Malayalam, but it baffles me even more than Tamil does.

I had one narrow escape: I called in to see the famous Pete and he wasn't there. Phew! Would probably have cost me Rs30,000 if he had been! ... Another day.

And one more smiley to go.

Belated Birthday wishes, Thad.

Why am I not in the least surprised about your plans of getting yourself a home (preferably along the river) & a boat in God's Own Country ? Am sure it figures as a long term plan of most Mallus, especially the NRKs. Happens to be mine too.

Something on the lines of the below that I stumbled across near my home, but much smaller (both the home and the boat).

Boats parked in the waterway (?), like we would have cars parked in the driveway.

If wishes were horses, ......
