Default Any experiences buying Channapatna toys in.. err.. Channapatna (Bangalore)?

I know Cauvery store on MG Road sells these toys, but would like to drive down to this town for some weekend fun. Any experiences, shop address, etc.? Thanks.

Some info: Channapatna toys - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

They make traditional toys. Its a regular stop for KSTDC, ITDC and other tour buses.

androdev its just a mere waste of time trying to get toys in Channapatna. It used to be a hot pick about 10-12 years back , not anymore. Its gotten too commercialized and I don't think the toys they sell any longer comes from the villages around.

Adding to what Riju said, If you are hell bent to buy those toys then there is an outlet next to Kamat Lokaruchi, try that out? The place is JanapadaLoka.

He quotes at least 3x prices, I guess and not open to bargain. Go if you must.

Thanks for suggestions. Just purchased few toys in the small shop inside Lakaruchi. JanapadaLoka is closed for public on Tuesday so couldn't go inside. Hope to find some place with wider choice next time around.

Beg to differ, but the toys at Channapatna are worth taking a look at. Had been to one of the shops there, along with my friend, who was looking for a 'walker' for his kid. Traditional toys and reminiscent of our childhood days, which one can't find more of, in cities now
