Question Wanted : DC sorta Bus on hire

Where can i find a 'bus' kind of thing on hire for an all-India tour? (mini-bus/tempo-traveller etc are all fine)
Not the regular ones but the DC kinds?

Can hire from anywhere in India.
Also the approximate cost/day.

I'd say ask DC himself! He'll certainly know about ALL available options, and can even give you a quote to do up your very own Tempo Traveller!

We have an office bus done by DC himself with all the goodies but I'm not sure if boss will be willing to give it outside. It has four leather recliner seats, a bed, toilet, 2 LCD's, Microwave and beautiful interiors...will be posting a tread on it in sometime.

He sometimes mentioned that it was for 25k per day charge but i have never seen it being given outside.

Will let you know.

LOL, I think I know already!
By the time you've done a two or three month Bharat Darshan, you'd be spending enough to OWN one at that rate!!

These vehicles are for short hauls and not long journey expeditions. More of a corporate travel vehicle.

And you would be amazed at how many people/ companies are ready to hire it at that price

I really couldn't care less at our skewed statistics!
The world uses them as short term, medium term and long term vehicles, and many that love this form of travel have simply bought their own!
They can be seen parked in plenty in any 'blue-collar' neighbourhood in the US!

Exactly our thought in getting this bus made here! I dont think Indians are ready for the RV's as yet!

Only people coming back from the US think it is necessary or good.

I wouldn't disagree with those that are not quite ready yet.
We just do not have the RV infrastructure in place yet!

What I find with the few who come with their RVs to India is that they utilize the Tourism Department's Hotels to park! I have seen a few in the mountains. They pay an arbitary amount, after due negotiation with the hotel manager, and they get to use the toilets and the common areas! A wee bit of help from the kitchens as well!

In fact, now actually looking to buy and retrofit our own bus (rather than hire).
So the question is actually whether there is anyone other than DC who can build good quality custom buses.

I guess the thread posers questions remained.

I now have a requirement to get a bus converted into a demo centre.

1) Require it to be as large as a Volvo
2) Reasonably priced - TATA is fine as a brand.
3) Will be used after modification (removal of side pannels + fitting of equipments) as a demo centre on wheels for IT products.
4) Plan is to make one side of the entire bus openable such that the top panels (where we have windows) such that it gets raised upward to reveal a clear side and the bottom half (below the windows) folds out to revel a ramp/ step to step into the bus.
5) Looking for some body other than DC to do this. Looking for a complete solution.
6) Do I need to buy a chassis and build a body with a coach builder or buy a bus )(without seats) and mofify it. (The windows and over head storage will get wasted)

Hi ACM,

I think there is one called EMT (Andheri) who I think can get you the job done.
I don't know if he makes these ad vehicles but he has done some office on wheels so this shouldn't be too tough too handle.
Will try and ask him if he does this kind of job.

According to me it would be great if you could get only the chassis or at the most with the body without the seats and extra stuff as you'll be just wasting the money on them.

By the way have a look here: Executive ModCar Trendz Welcomes you
Regards,
Shoeb
