Andheri East , chakala - network down !

What sort of business continuity plan do these guys have , its more than half a day and no signs of the network coming back to life

Confirming that at 1741 Hrs from Sakinaka also ! Almost one day of no connectivity these guys otta be taken to the court for this for doing this without notice, unless its an accident which caused this

No network in Hiranandani and parts of Chembur, apparently the Master Switch
(controlling billing and network access) at Lower Parel is down. Internally they state that it would be up by 6 p.m. Its 6.01 pm right now and yet no network.

Just got an update from the airtel representative, below quoted is the message:

"Dear All,

Below is update on Network issue

1. The fire has been put off by the fire brigade at around 1 pm.
2. Access to the building has not yet been allowed.
3. We have finalised an alternate location at Kamala Mills where the standby Tx equipment will be installed. (Access to Vodafone building adjacent to Penninsula Towers was not allowed by police / Fire Brigade)
4. Equipment and the Network Team has reached the site and work has commenced
5. We expect 1 ring to be up by 6 PM. This would restore 8 to 10 nodes of the 15 nodes which have been affected.
6. Another 2 rings are expected to be restored by 11PM tonight. All nodes will be up by 11 PM.
7. FTTB nodes would take time and should be up by tomorrow morning 6 AM.
8. We have outcalled close to 200 PRI customers and 320 analog customers. As Airtel Mobile lines are also down some of the affected customers are not reachable. Wherever possible Sales team is communicating with these customers.
9. The IVR prompt has been uploaded.
10. Though we have not been able to ascertain the damage to equipment, we suspect that our equipment would have been damaged by the water jets used by fire brigade. Fibre in the basement has been burnt.

Oops, no wonder I wasn't able to access Airtel network in Mumbai today!

I had to then latch on to Hutch to make some urgent calls!

Airtel is up now, but I still can't make calls, it says 'Network Error'!
